“HOME AWAY FROM HOME”
The hotel is located in the heart of Valencia. The area is filled with fashionable stores and restaurants. There is a metro station nearby. The buildings are impressive and elegant. The hotel staff are very professional and cordial. They make you feel right at home. The room we were given was very large and comfortable.
“Lovely central hotel”
Great place to stay.Try the sea food resterant in the street behind the hotel it is great
“Decent location near train station”
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful with maps and info. Only issue real issue I had was the walls are thin but more importantly they don't have irons or ironing boards available at all. You can send your clothes out for an additional fee.
“Excellent location”
We chose this hotel because it was close to the station ( if you come into the southern end of the station, catch the shuttle to the main station then just walk out the front door & across the road & you are in the pedestrian area. Internet was expensive at the hotel, but literally walk out the front door To the cafe for free internet for the cost of a coffee or beer. A great base for exploring, much of the central area is within walking distance.
“Great hotel with some noise.”
If you don't mind the noise it's a great hotel.
“Convenient, Good Value”
The hotel is easy to get to on the metro directly from the passenger terminal at the airport. Hop on the train and get off at Xativa. From there it is a 3 block walk to the hotel, about 6 minutes. There are easy to use maps of the local neighborhood to guide you. We took the advice of other expedia reviewers and skipped the brreakfast buffet at the hotel, which is very expensive. There are numerous cafes in the neighborhood. Spanish breakfasts are a bit different than traditional english or american breakfasts. You can have iberic ham, cheese or chopped tomatos on toasted bread. Of course you want freshly squeezed local orange juice and coffee too.
“Best Beds in Spain”
This was the best hotel we stayed at while in Spain. It was more up to the standards Americans are used to... big rooms, big bathrooms, soft beds! A cafe across the street had really great food. I wished we had stayed in this hotel our entire trip to Spain!
“Comfort in Valencia center”
A very attractive hotel including lobby, bar area, dining room and our guest room/bath. Our room and bath were very spacious. Beautifully done. Extremely friendly front desk staff capable of English, Italian, Spanish and probably more. Very helpful with restaurant suggestions and mapping directions. You can walk out the front door and see the sights. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
“Good location, close to rail station”
A good place to stay. Close to the rail station. Interesting buildings and outdoor cafes within easy walking distance. Helpful staf.
“Expected better though would return again if price was good.”
This Vincci Lys is ideally located 5 minutes walk from the old bull ring & train station and in an excellent location walking distance to anywhere in the old part of the city. If you arrive by train and have rolling luggage, walk. Do not take a taxi just to go around the block. LOL The taxi driver did warn us it was very close, so chalk that up to a funny 5 Euro tourist memory. The lobby is a bit worn, but suitable and clean. The rooms are also OK, though forgettable and only spanish stations on tv unless you choose pay per view. We did not spend much time in the room, so this was not a problem. Service was good all around and we would stay there again if the price was competitive. We booked at an expedia special rate, so it was good though no breakfast or additions. Breakfast at the hotel is typically over-priced, but you can eat at a wonderful cafe literally just across the walking street from the lobby entrance and the cafe offers free wifi if you ask for the password. Warning: we booked two rooms each with single queen/full beds and only received 1 room with a single bed and the other was two twins pushed together. Even though we booked/paid 2 months in advance, upon arrival the hotel said it is not guaranteed to receive a big bed and they only have 4 such rooms available in the hotel. Disappointing yes, but certainly not a deal breaker. Enjoy Valencia!!!
