Friends on a Road Trip
Three friends traveling in southern Germany. We booked on-line and arrived around 8 pm. The hotel is about 150 years old and has nice character and charm. We choose this as it was on the way from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle. The doors used metal keys. The room was a good size and had two windows that I opened to bring in cool air. Nice bells can be heard on the hour. I felt it was a true German experience. The breakfast was great. Many breads, fruits, jams and a wonder orange juice machine. The staff provided excellent service.

Old, dated, needs extensive update
No elevator, narrow steps to third floor. Some rooms are too small, and Wi-Fi works at dial-up speeds in rooms far from router. Do not count on getting any work done. Breakfast is good

Old World Charm
This place exudes old world charm with a beautiful staircase but could do with a makeover. We chose it for location, as it was close to Starnberg lake and station. Excellent location for visiting Munich (twenty minutes away). Good breakfast choice served in a pretty room. Hotel does not have a restaurant but there are a good choice of restaurants in the area. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Quiet, compact room with good sized, comfortable bed. Hotel does not have a lift which might pose problems for some. Would happily return and recommend.

One night stay
Stayed here for one night just to experience the town of Starnberg. Neat little town with some nice restaurants and shops. The Hotel was what I expected, great location, nice old time feel and the breakfast was excellent.

okay, however to expensive. breakfast should be a choice, not included. One can save money that way, no one eats that much. Loud and noisy because of the street and the train station. lake view is nice

Nicest and most helpful staff ever!
Excellent stay - great location just steps from Starnburg Lake - wonderful people at reception desk. Room super clean and comfortable. Some parts of hotel are little worn, but is part of its charm.

Gorgeous old hotel close to station and the lake.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel obviously needs work (there were timber props holding up the external balconies), but the upside are the spacious rooms and that feeling of experiencing a bygone era

Nostalgic Hotel takes you back to a gentler time
This hotel is good if you like to be brought back in time. The rooms are modern and clean complete with wifi but there is no elevator. Breakfast buffet is good and it is directly across from the train station. Many good restaurants nearby.

Great Location for Travel
We loved our room. It had beautifully tall windows and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. The breakfast spread looked great, but we arrived towards the end and most of the items had been picked through. The front desk staff were willing and able to provide recommendations for food and beverages upon request.

Very Good Location
I was looking for a cheaper place to stay, as always, after we booked at Hotel Bayerischer. Doing that would have been a mistake. It looks like they are updating parts of the hotel, but our room had been for the most part. It was a large room, very tall ceilings in a hotel that has quite an old house charm, very comfortable for me. I found it to be in a great location too, maybe 70 meters from the S BAHN. That's a really good thing in case you've never been to Germany. There is access to pretty much all of Munich on it. We paid 13 Euros for an all day pass. I believe that is for up to 5 people. Had I known that, I would have saved 2 days car rental. It's a little confusing at first, but people were pretty helpful. The room was a nice size room with a slight view of Starnberg See. That is also very close to the hotel. The room had a small fridge in it also. They served a continental breakfast every morning that was included in the cost and included medium boiled eggs. There are many shops and cafe's within walking distance also. The staff was great, helpful and courteous. Understand that this is Europe, so that may not be what you're used to. I would not hesitate to stay there again. If there was any fall back it would be that the shower was a little small. If you are a very big person, that may present an issue. If not, I'm sure you will enjoy this little hidden beauty!

Hotel Bayerischer Hof Starnberg by the lake
The hotel was clean, the staff helpful, and the views of the lake great to wake up to. It's a 30 minute trip from Munich by train, but located almost directly opposite the station. Would recommend 'Sowieso' as a nearby place to eat for good reasonably priced food in decent quantity.

Ich fand es schade, dass kein Restaurant vorhanden ist. Im Haus selbst befindet sich zwar "ein Grieche", aber man möchte auch mal im Hotel sekbst bleiben.

150 Jahre altes Hotel in direkter Nähe zum Bahnhof
Super herzlicher Emfang und durchweg nettes Personal. Wer bei so einem alten Haus ein hippes und top modernes Haus erwartet wird enttäuscht, aber wer tut das schon. Reichliches Frühstücksbuffet und bequeme Matratzen.

Wer´s altmodisch mag.
Von außen mach das Hotel her, aber man merkt, dass das gute Stücke einige Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Hotelteam, Frühstück und Sauberkeit waren einwandfrei. Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Starnberger See. Toll. Das Zimmer selbst war aber schon ziemlich altmodisch und abgewohnt. An den Matratzen habe ich allerdings nichts auszusetzen. Leider habe ich trotzdem schlecht geschlafen, da der Geräuschpegel der vorbeifahrenden Autos und Züge doch sehr laut war. Für eine Nacht wars aber insgesamt i.O.

Tolle Lage, guter Service, Renovierungsbedarf
Die Lage ist perfekt in der Nähe zum Bahnhof und direkt an der Uferpromenade nur durch die Bahnlinie getrennt. Das Eckzimmer mit Blick auf den See war sehr großzügig. Sehr freundlicher Service, aber das Hotel könnte an einigen Stellen etwas Renovierung / Farbe gebrauchen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Die Hotels.com angegebenen kostenfreien Parkplätzen, kosten in der Zwischenzeit 2,- € pro Tag. Die Rezeption war aber bereit die Parkgebühren wieder gutzuschreiben oder durch andere Leistungen auszugleichen.

Klassisches Hotel mit grossem Charme
Der Bayrische Hof in Starnberg steht unter Heimatschutz. Unbedingt erhaltenswert. Weitere Investitionen sind notwendig um das Hotel stilgerecht auf einen neuzeitlichen Betriebszustand zu bringen. Aus diesem Grund sollte die Gemeinde Starnberg weitere finanzielle Mittel zur Verfügung stellen. Der Betreiber sollte alle Gewinne, sofern solche anfallen, umgehend reinvestieren. Auf mittlere Frist entsteht ein grossartiges Hotel direkt gegenüber dem Bahnhof Starnberg mit Blick auf den herrlichen See.

Die Nähe zu den Verkehrsmitteln ist der wesentliche Vorteil dieses Hotels, man muss nur über die Strasse gehen. Ansonsten ist der Eindruck sehr gemischt. Aus seinem angeblichen historischen Erbe macht das Hotel wenig. Sehr kleine Zimmer. Frühstück mit vielen Plastikpäckchen, die in Tischmülleimer entsorgt werden, außer gekochten harten Eiern keine warmen Bestandteile. Von Zeit zu Zeit war etwas "aus" und wer im falschen Moment kam, durfte dann erst einmal warten. (Kommentar: "Bretzen waren aus ? Aber wir haben doch auch ein reichhaltiges Brotangebot". Weil ich zu einem Meeting in einem anderen sehr bekannten Hotel im Innenstadtbereich zu Fuß gehen wollte, fragte ich die Receptionistin um Rat, die mir auf dem Stadtplan einen vollkommen falschen Weg einzeichnete, am eigentlichen Zielort vorbei, doppelt so weit und falsch. Drauf später angesprochen kam eine Reaktion, die aus einem der Filme von Karl Valentin und Liesel Karlstadt sein könnte: Natürlich wisse man dass der Platz falsch eingezeichnet sei, aber man kenne die Strecke und fahre dort jeden Tag entlang, vermutlich sei der Stadtplan falsch...Man hätte sich ja auch entschuldigen können, aber das stand bei der Dame wohl nicht in der Stellenbeschreibung. Am letzten Morgen beim Auschecken konnte dann auch noch keine Quittung geschrieben werden, weil dem Hotel gerade die Tonerpatronen für den Drucker ausgegangen waren. Damit endete dieser denkwürdige Aufenthalt in Starnberg, mit der festen Absicht, nicht wiederzukommen.

bad hotel,noisy, you can even hear people what they are talking. Blaze light from the parking lot keep turning on and off. I can't sleep whole night. If you won't sleep, this hotel is your best choice.

Geschäftlicher Aufenthalt, es war sauber, der Service und das Personal freundlich, das Frühstück gut. Das bewohnte Einzelzimmer war sehr klein, es hat alles funktioniert und über die Sauberkeit kann ich nicht klagen. Allerdings würde es gut sein, das Badezimmer einmal zu renovieren.

Ho usato questo hotel come "campo base" per raggiungere/frequentare la fiera di Monaco che dista ca. 25 km (autostrada). Un'ottima scelta strategica: gli hotel nelle immediate vicinanze della fiera avevano prezzi molto più alti. Per questo motivo reputo il rapporto qualità/prezzo di questa struttura ottimo.

Für eine Übernachtung erträglich
Unterer Durchschnitt. Zimmer sehr hellhörig, Einrichtung sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Bad muss renoviert werden. Mitarbeiter freundlich. Parkplatz war kaum benutzbar, da nur Kieß und Schlamm. Frühstück OK. Insgesamt aber für die gesamte Performance zu teuer.
