“Great!”
Great services, staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is great! Location is superb.
“Well Appointed”
Superb location with best views of the bay(not Victoria Bay) and a Beach. Just a bit far from the hustle and bustle. Good size rooms and a very spacious bathroom. Our room came with a terrace which was wonderful to enjoy the morning cuppa with a great view of the Yacht club and the bay. Hotel has a shuttle that runs every hour taking guests to "Tsim Sha Tsui" for a small sum of approximately £3 per person, which is approximately the same price that one would pay a ticket on MTR for the distance. From "Tsim Sha Tsui" is is just a 10 min ferry to mainland Honk Kong. The last shuttle from "Tsim Sha Tsui" to the hotel is at 11pm so plenty of time to finish activities in Hong Kong and head back to the hotel. For people partying late, and couldn't be bothered about catching the shuttle, the taxi service is superb and cheap. It cost us approximately £14 to get back to the hotel after midnight. All in all a superb place if you want to be in a quieter area after dark and not too far away from reaching the main places in and around Honk Kong
“GOOD RESORT FOR HK”
GOOD LOCATION FOR OUT OF TOWN HONG KONG. GOOD SHUTTLE SERVICE TO HONG KONG
“Gold Coaster”
Very nice hotel in a very nice area of Hong Kong. Staff are polite and helpful. The only inconvenience, and it was minor, was having to log on to the wi-fi every time I wanted to access the net. Other than that, this is a nice hotel. From what the front desk staff told me upon check in, be sure to request a non-smoking floor if you are a non-smoker. Some floors are smoking, others not. Hotel food was good. Bar is well stocked. Convention halls large and adequate. Lots of weddings are held here, for good reason, it is a very beautiful location, with good views. Plenty of options and access to downtown (cabs, vans, etc), which is about a 30 minute ride. This is nice if you don't want to stay in the congested city and want a little more peaceful surroundings.
“suits All.”
Only there for two nights - good stay place runs like clockwork and staff have good attitude
“Great Value for An Upscale Experience”
We chose the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel because of previous high ratings and affordability. Being a larger family, we needed two rooms for our overnight stay in Hong Kong before flying out after our adoption trip in China. We saved hundreds of dollars by choosing this hotel over others closer to the airport. The service was unbelievably friendly and efficient. The same person who checked us in was able to exchange our money for HK dollars, schedule our wake up call, and arrange for our taxi the following morning to the airport. The staff was fluent in English was made the stay more comfortable. When we called for luggage pick up, the staff was there quickly, while the taxi driver was waiting for us already. Amazingly efficient. The hotel is listed as just over 5 miles from the airport, but a 30 minute drive. It is definitely further than a 5 mile drive; however, it was a beautiful drive along the bay, and we were thrilled with the views we saw on our morning drive. The views from the hotel window were beautiful, and the hotel itself was peaceful, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of other hotels we stayed at in our travels. We have four children, ages 4, 6, 7 and 9 with us. They LOVED the glass elevators and the sights to see in the lobby. We felt our children were welcome. If we ever return to Hong Kong, we will certainly choose the Gold Coast Hotel, and we plan to recommend it to other adoptive families who want a nice hotel at a more affordable price.
“Nice place to stay”
I like the hotel a lot. It has a very nice setting, a soothing place in the midst of the bustling Hong Kong. It's close to restaurant, park, and beach, etc. It suits the people who want a quiet and comfortable place to stay. The hotel has nice facilities. It's probably not ideal for those who come to Hong Kong just for shopping although there are buses outside the hotel go directly to the downtown area if one knows how to work the bus route. The hotel does have shuttle bus to downtown on a not so frequent schedule.
“A quiet stop off in Hong Kong!”
Yes, the hotel Gold Coast is a quiet place to stop off in Hong Kong. The service and the food was superb. But, the condition of some parts of the hotel was a little in the need of attention. We had to change rooms because of the noise from the air con in our first room. The good thing about that was that they didn't re-let the room. When we walked past it later they were repairing the system. We travelled into the city most mornings of our stay. The 40 minute journey is just great. The views of the city, the bridges and the docks just takes your breath away. The hotel garden is worth a look. On our last morning we sat and read our books for a while.
“beautiful & peaceful gardens / location”
The Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel has very high standards. As well as conferences and celebrations, the hotels put much focus on weddings. We stayed as tourists for 8 nights and really enjoyed the hotel, however this was in mid November and coincided with the luckiest day for decades (11/11/11) and at least eight bridal parties / weddings took place. One of the reasons for this is the superb location / views and in particular the gardens:they are not only beautifully maintained but a haven of tranquillity. It was well worth being away from the centre to enjoy the peace and quiet. The rooms are quite reasonably sized for HK, and the housekeeping first class. All rooms have a sea view. Due to the layout of the hotel the more expensive and therefore larger, rooms with balconies are immediately above the restaurants /bars and outdoor terraces. Which esp when outdoor events / bbqs and cooking stations are in action they have the noise and smoke. It is however, a beautiful hotel and the staff were very helpful, if somewhat overwhelmed on busy occasions. Breakfast was excellent, and room service exceptionally good. Rooms were spotless and well maintained / cleaned &. Reception helpful. Nice pool in lovely surroundings with resident butterfiles & bats in the evening. Hotel shuttle bus very useful to Nathan Road. The Beach just 5 metres away. Great views, but it was the gardens thta impressed me most. It is a location this is some 40 minutes away from the centre but so worth it.
“Nice, but far away from central Hong Kong”
Took my children to Disneyland and self-planned my trip from the Middle East. All was well except for the location from Disney and central Hong Kong. It was my error to not really see how far it was located from everything. We took the green taxis so getting around wasn't a real problem but in terms of the hotel, premium blend! The staff was nice except the front desk clerks were very indifferent, but not a reason to not stay at this beautiful hotel.
