Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade Tours and Activities

Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade showing a bay or harbour, a city and street scenes

See Hong Kong’s Hollywood-style Avenue of Stars, then wait around until sundown to see the skyline light up from one of the best vantage points in town.

Hong Kong’s skyline is amongst the most spectacular in the world, and Tsim Sha Tsui features one of the best views in town. Whether you are shopping on the commercial streets in the neighbourhood, visiting the Hong Kong Space Museum or catching an opera performance nearby, drop by this pleasant square. Return at night for a popular light and sound show.

Learn why Hong Kong was referred to as the “Hollywood of the East” at its very own Avenue of Stars, located on the promenade. The film history of Hong Kong is on display in plaques, memorials and handprints of local celebrities. A sculpture of former Hong Kong resident Bruce Lee, the world-famous action movie star, serves as a perfect photo opportunity. Come by on Saturday night for live music.

Bring the kids to the nearby Hong Kong Space Museum to play with interactive displays and watch 3-D movies on science and engineering. An extensive assortment of paintings and sculptures lies next door at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

For more of Hong Kong’s high culture, check out a ballet, opera or musical at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The uneven curve of this modernist building is unmistakable.

Come back to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade by sundown to watch the skyscrapers across Victoria Harbour light up. Benches line the promenade, so you can rest your feet while watching the city come alive. Stay until 8 p.m. while huge crowds gather around you for the Symphony of Lights show. Lasers dance around the harbour to energetic music in this exciting spectacle dedicated to the energy and spirit of the human race.

Drop by a restaurant in the packed streets of Tsim Sha Tsui just to the north of the promenade for a pricey but elegant sample of regional cuisine.

Located just across Victoria Harbour from Hong Kong Island’s Central district, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade can be reached by the Star Ferry. You can take the MTR as well, but the ferry ride is wonderfully scenic and should not be missed.
