“Excellent choice by EXPEDIA”
Wife and I went for Prince Concert took son and cousin in there teens I booked the two bedroom with Expedia. Once I got there without seeing the two bedroom I paid for a separate Queen room so the wife and I could have some time after concert, went up to the room and had a two bedroom suite with living room separating rooms. I cancelled the the Queen room right away has a great and wonderful stay.
“Downgrade rating?”
I was particularly put off by the person on the reception desk on the day I arrived. He was not at all helpful when I asked about airport transportation that i would require when I checked out. Absolutely minimalist. They should keep on hand the brochure about the bus service to the airport to give to their guests. I walked to nearby hotel to obtain the information where staff were extremely helpful even though I was not one of their guests and I identified myself as being at another hotel. Bathroom had strip heater on floor (inoperable I would hope) that made it feel quite shabby and I noticed the door to the bathroom needed a thorough clean. Lighting was poor. Early morning when I left, concierge was more friendly. I would look for another hotel next time.
“Too much noise!”
You definetely don't get what you pay for... we've stayed in much better 2 stars hotels! I think the carpets cover an old wooden floor, and when you walk on it the everybody in the nearby rooms can hear you! The bathroom's door is also noisy and the shower was weak and it was dificult to reach the ideal temperature (too hot or too cold). I woke up every time my husband openned and closed the door, although I usually sleep deeply... I asked for another room in the reception, but they said it was impossible to relocate us because the hotel was full. I booked it through expedia "unpublished rates" and I wondered if I got one of the worst rooms because I paid less... anyway, it wasn't worthwhile.
“Very good value”
Nice clean room, a bit dark, but very comfortable The only problem was a bit of a smell on the hall, otherwise the receptionist were very helpful and friendly, room was clean, bathroom renewed.
“An Excellent Choice to stay”
We found the hotel to be a very good choice as we were travelling with our children 10 -14 yrs. Hotel cleanliness was overall - excellent - great housekeeping and a terrific staff that was very customer service oriented. In reading other reviews prior to our stay, about bathrooms being small and that the area, during the evening hours had "ladies of the nite" around the hotel, I can only say - remember this is Canada - a major city - the hotel is really no different than any of the others in amenities, except it was a real bargain for the money. Staying in downtown was a great experience and yes, even though some undesirables are out late at night is no reflection on the hotel - thats urban life! It was a great location, convenient to everything, great restaurants within several blocks and public transportation was very easy to use and to get around to see all that Toronto offers. The pool, hot tub and sauna were great and were very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - we had a great stay there! Hope to go back again soon!
“Some good, some bad”
Hotel was very easy to get to (our first time in Toronto) and close to Yonge St., lots to see and do close by. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Room was nice with sophisticated decor. Beds comfortable. Bathroom tiny and needs some towel hooks or bars--there is NOwhere to put your wet towels! Room was mostly clean but hadn't been vacuumed under couch and chair--lots of crumbs, peanuts hiding there. Pool very shallow but jacuzzi was nice. Parking was in underground deck and easy to access. A really nice feature is they let you stay parked there after checkout, until 6 pm! Our worst complaint is that the hallway had a very strong, unpleasant smell, some kind of cleaner or air freshener that we all hated. Room had it too but to much lesser extent (thank goodness). Overall it is a nice hotel.
“Location is good, but for family trip, especially with children, I don't recommend to others,”
This hotel is located in the middle of downtown. So we could easily walk to the street. Hotel staff was kind and we could borrow microwave oven in our room. It was very nice of me. But when we arrived at parking lot at first, we were very disappointed because it was very old and smell was not good. In our room, carpet was stained a lot and bathroom was very old. The hallway smelled like cigarettes. I think this hotel is not clean. If you just want to stay near downtown and want for just one night and save your money for trip, this hotel is good for you. But if you plan for more happy and comfortable trip with your children, please find more clean and comfortable hotel for your children.
“Needs some work”
This was our first time to Toronto and perhaps I should have done some additional research on the area. Walking around the area was a bit of a culture shock, especially at night. There was quite a party going on in the room next to ours. The next morning, my husband complained at the front desk, but was told that he should have called the night before. Some of the employees at the front desk were very friendly, others not so much. The furnishings, beds and linens were very nice. The bathroom had recently been remodeled, but the paint spills still had not been cleaned up. The rug was filthy! It was conveniently located and easy to get to the subway, Yonge St. and Dundas Square. A refridgerator or microwave in the room would have been nice. The parking was also a bit pricey. I'm not used to having to pay for parking at a hotel. There is a cheaper lot next door, but as the employee stated, it didn't seem safe to park there. My son enjoyed the pool, but I think they overdid it with the chlorine. His trunks were completely bleached after swimming in the pool. The jets on the hot tub were weak. A light in the bathroom was burnt out and the toilet broke. My husband asked the cleaning lady for a plunger and fixed it himself.
“Better than expected”
We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with king sized beds. We had the best nights sleep in a hotel room ever.
“Not bad for the price”
We needed double queen beds at a reasonable price and this Ramada delivered. Close to street cars and a few blocks from the subway.
