“Noisy and hot, but great location”

Great location, but no a/c and room was on the street level next to the street. It could get extremely noisy. Wasn't that big of a problem for me, but might be for some. Breakfast was good.

“Beware of being moved to another hotel”

We booked this nice looking hotel through expedia, easy! Upon arrival, we got immediately the message that due to heavy rainfall, most of the rooms were not occupyable and they had booked us in another hotel, here's the map and they expect you... No sign of cleaning, nor heavy rain, just a trick to overbook, cash the money and then send people across town. The place we got sent to was much older and we were first givven a 2 bed basement room with no windows, no air coming in, very unfriendly ( and I guess embarrassed) staff! In short, don't get fooled and stay as far away as possible from this bunch of cons!

Tallinn is a great city, there are plenty of nice places, just be careful

“Lovely Tallinn hotel”

Extremely nice property, most courteous staff. Courtyard in back was a quiet cool respite to escape the heat. We were on the top floor therefore it was quite hot - however the hotel can hardly be faulted for the weather and why would they have a/c for the few days of summer heat? I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Getting around

Tram system is very user-friendly. Take it from one side of town to the other, walk around the sea front to the Russian War Monument; it and the surrounding grounds are most interesting and off the beaten path.

“Nice location”

Nice hotel with a friendly staff. Only problem was that we stayed on the fourth floor, and there was no elevator. Our room also got quite warm, as this was the top floor. Location in the Old Town of Tallinn is unbeatable though.

“Old world charm - updated”

Excellent value for the price. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous. We stayed two nights, the first one quiet, the second rather loud with noise from the street. Otherwise, our stay was very good.

Getting around

We bought the Tallin card for 24 hours. With that, one gets a terrific view of the city and its main attractions.

Shopping

We found the three Estonian crafts stores on Pikk Street to be really wonderful. Actually, shopping in Old Town was a pleasure because of the variety of native wares of good quality - wood and textiles (linen and wool).

“Good budget value in Tallin”

Hotel is quaint. Traditional old style Tallin architecture. It has it's charms and inconveniences (steep narrow stairs for example without elevator). Price was great, service adequate, room quite clean with quirky charming aestetics, free easy to use internet, convenient location, normal breakfast in a quite nice dining hall. In past I stayed at larger modern 3 stars near the port. I liked St. Olav's more because of the location. Because of value, I recommend.

“Character-filled hotel”

This was a fantastic hotel that we would definitely recommend. Loved the maze-like layout of the hotel, with winding corridors and stairs leading up to our room. Great location in old-town.
