"Check in was super easy. We opted for valet parking just to avoid the headache. Beautiful hotel - it was a busy weekend with lots of parties happening on site. Staff was friendly at check in and we didn’t really have any other encounters.
Walkable distance for food and drinks. Didn’t try out the hotel bars or restaurants so unsure how they are.
Room was nice, beds were comfortable but the bathroom could use some upkeep and better cleaning. Something on the walls near the toilet, toilet paper holder broken and crooked, shower needed a better cleaning and sink had issues draining. Overall we had a great stay but for the money I expected a much cleaner bathroom."
"Hotel was being renovated but staff was great and breakfast and breakfast staff was very good. We noticed it very easy to hear the guest above us stoping around.....luckily they didn't stomp too late."
Residence Inn by Marriott Syracuse Downtown at Armory Square
8/10 Good
"The Good: Our room at the Residence Inn was massive. It was basically a fully furnished apartment. If I wanted a room for a longer stay, it had all the amenities needed to cook and serve yourself in the room.
The room was clean and everything worked.
The breakfast buffet was free and it was better than expected, and the people who served it were very friendly.
Parking was free.
The Bad: We went to the front desk three times; check in, check out, and once for directions. There wasn't anyone at the desk any of those times. We had to wait for someone to walk by or come out of a back room and notice us. Not really an acceptable presence for a premium hotel."
