“Average hotel, great location”

Loved the location as the main tourist sites are within walking distance. Roo and corridors are a bit dated, tea/coffee facility in room very handy. Cafes nearby so I didn't pay extra for breakfast.

“Friendly, efficient staff and modern facilities”

Great room...modern, clean, sufficient space. I left my hairdryer behind and the staff were very friendly & helpful - retrieving it a week later was a breeze. Location is almost right next door to Wynyard station, very convenient! Also it was nice to have our room set up exactly as requested (2 x singles & a rollaway) and not have to chase it up! Overall a top experience.

“Sydney Town”

Hotel was basically fine, staff were accessible, polite and helpful but - 1. the bed was not made terribly well on the 2nd and 3rd nights, 2. shampoo & conditioner were not replaced on the 2nd night, 3 charging $22/day for room internet access is excessive. The internet is a way of life now and should be available at a minmal cost ($5/day?) or most probbaly just be part of the tariff.

“Not impressed”

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in the city of Sydney. Seriously tiny rooms in need of repair and the 4 star rating is crazy. Bathroom had one tiny soap for both the shower and the vanity so we had to ask for more. Corriders smell musty and are so small.

“Convenient and helpful”

This hotel is convenient as it is located in the CBD and steps away from the Wynyard Station. It is popular with tour bus groups. Nothing fancy but well situated.

“Better Hotels in area”

Over all a nice place. However one staff member whilst helping serve breakfast wiped his nose with palm of hand, then continued to arrange breakfast utensils. Hygene overlooked. Breakfast very pricey at $25 for bacon and scrambled eggs. $20 for cereal or toast.

“Great Location reasonable hotel for CBD”

As advrtised great location. Wynyard station literally 50 metres away. Air train from airport in a/c comfort to hotel in under 20 mins. Great breakfast but do book when you arrive for the morning after as it is very much cheaper. The breakfast was wonderful and the pancake machine was a winner. Staff friendly, efficient and some went above and beyond. Room quiet, very clean and comfortable. Loved the shutters to darken the room. TV was flat screen and movies were offered but I wasn't there for that. A short walk (2 blocks down and 2 over) and I was at the theatre to see Jersey Boys. The quiet bar and coffee lounge was welcome off the foyer. A slight musty smell in the corridor as exited the lifs but not in the rooms. lugguage storage was very welcome both early on the day of arrival and late on the departure day. Also it was part of the service (FREE). Will come again if going to the theatre in city.

Area recommendations

Circular Quay, anywhere on the harbour because it is Sydney harbour and nowhere else in Australia can we see it like Sydneysiders do. The CBD because any and all brands of shopping are there, plus the Rocks and the Paddington markets or Paddys markets are all there. Go for a ferry ride to Manly because you can and if time to Paramatta.

Getting around

When you buy your air train ticket, get the extension for an all day ferry, bus and train pass. Cheap as chips and really good value.

“Will use again”

Great location. Bus stop across the street. Train literally 50 metres down the street. Starbucks across the street. 3 easy walking blocks to Pitt Street Mall and theatre for Jersey Boys. Very clean. Staff very helpful. Order breakfast (full hot) when you check in as is much cheaper ($20). Very good food. Pancake maker was a hit. It isn't 5 star, but quiet, dark blinds, good air con. Lifts a little slow but the place was busy, busy so lots of people getting on and off each floor. Can come from airport all the way to Wynyard railway station in 20 mins, then up the escalator and only 50 mtrs you are there. Great for tired travellers or those with children. Cost can also include an all day bus, ferry and train pass for the whole of Sydney. Have been to other nearby hotels which were 5 star, but this hotel has all you need for a weekend out on the town.

Area recommendations

The Rocks, Circular Quay and China Town. All easily accessible by train and bus from the hote and all the usual things are there. You cannot go to Sydney without seeing the harbour from some aspect. Ferry ride to Manly takes you right through the harbour. Taronga Park Zoo ferry goes in another direction. Just be a tourist, it is all there for you and people will help you with your enquires. Don't ask the tour operators, search before you go so you have some idea of what you want to do. The Manly Ferry costs nothing with your all day pass and the same trip almost, costs a fortune with the tour boats because they offer you cheap champagne. Buy your drinks at a pub in Manly, it will be cheaper, taste better and you have the same view.

Getting around

Use the all day rail, bus ferry pass. Great if your feet get tired or you decide to go to another place not in the area and time is short. Taxi's are expensive and traffic is heavy and slow so you pay a lot for waiting in traffic.

Brands -Sydney has them all. But it also has Paddington Markets, Paddys Markets and The Rocks markets.
