“Cheap and cheerful”

The Sydney Travelodge is budget holiday which is of reasonable quality without any luxury. The reception and staff are not welcoming, you feel like you are buying a ticket at a train station. The air conditioning struggles in many rooms particularly when Sydney is hot and humid. There is a great coffee shop next door which is a bonus.

“Good experience”

Rooms were small but very adequate. We included the breakfast which was vey good. Staff was very helpfull. We went up to Coffs Harbor for a few day and have rebooked in prior to and after a cruise

“Will not be returning.”

We have stayed at the Travelodge Hotel Sydney for the past two years. The first time was fantastic, last year was passable, this year - we will never return. We had booked two nights and received the smallest room on the floor. We had trouble finding the room as it is right next to the lifts. The hot water was non existent in the kitchenette and bathroom sink. After reporting the problem, we were told to run the tap for a few minutes to allow the water to flow through. Our room was not serviced until 2.30pm and this was only when we asked the cleaning staff to come ourselves. You are asked to give a $50.00 deposit plus $0.75 fee charged to your bankcard. When you leave you are offered cash so they can keep the $0.75 fee. We filled out the complaint form and we did receive a phone call on Monday and the Manager said they would check out our complaint. It is Wednesday night - no return phone call. The breakfast was very ordinary.

“A good place to stay relatively close to Sydney's attractions”

The service received was, bad. I paid for a Queen bed and got two singles, no chance to change it... No internet available at the rooms

“would definately recommend to others”

great location, close to central, and the rout of the free city shuttle bus around the town. clean and new interior. helpful staff.

“Convenient and comfortable!”

We attended a conference at the Entertainment Centre which was within 15 minutes walking from the hotel. The room rate is most reasonable, and we found it easy to get a taxi to the airport in the early morning, which was cheaper and a lot faster than taking the airport shuttle for two people sharing.

Area recommendations

Any hotels around Darling Harbour for business people attending events at the Convention Centre or the Entertainment Centre. The Travelodge in Wentworth Street is probably the most reasonable as far as rates go.

Dining

Dining options around the Entertainment Centre will spoil you for choice if you like Asian food. There is Chinatown and the Food Court above Paddy's Market.

“Not impressed”

Rooms were not clean, the quilt cover provided was stained and smelt as though it had not been washed. The cot provided was broken and collapsed several times. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the rooms tiny. When showering there was barely enough water to stand in, it pretty much dribbled out. The coffee etc sachets were a bare minimum.

CBD area, particularly around george street. It is within walking distance of Darling Harbour, shops and lots of cafe's and restaurants.

“Would use again when in Sydney and recommend to others.”

Very pleased with Travelodge Sydney, excellent location, close to all transport, reasonably priced restaurants nearby, staff were very helpful, the only critisism was the carpet could have been vacuumed more frequently. Having Tea & coffee and sink with microwave china and cutlery was great, would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

“Good location”

Hotel is in a good location and would suit someone who is not going to spend much time in their room. My only complaint - our room was right next to the lifts!!

Area recommendations

Darlinghurst or CBD. Interesting mix of people and places around Darlinghurst. Convenience of accessing tourist areas and shopping in CBD.
