“All good for a relaxing and central location.”

A warm and friendly welcome, the hotel is located very close to public transport and is near Central Station.. The pool and spa were welcomed after a long walk and the room was comfortably quiet and easy on the eye. Breakfast was the basic spread, with a Chef to make the eggs as you wanted.

Area recommendations

The location is a five - ten minutes walk to Oxford Street where all is available.

“Not up to previous standards”

I stay here on a regular basis but it wasnt up to standard this time - a delux room with no bath? Curtains covered in stain marks, one glass provided despite being a double room. Despite that its a good location - breakfast is way over priced - slip into the cafe next door instead.

Walking distance to Capitol Theatre - catch a show; a few blocks to Queen Victoria Building - good shopping - try High Tea on the Top Floor

“great place to stay in surry hills”

the sebel has good rooms with great big beds, comfotable table to work on. a reasonably priced restaurant and room service with a good selection and open 24 hours for room service. gym and pool are good too. i go back there every time i stay in sydney, which is about once a month, so i'm pretty happy!

surry hills and paddington are great for wandering around, shopping, eating and drinking.

“Great location for getting around”

The front desk was very helpful and friendly, the location one block from the central train station was perfect. The condition of the rooms was spotty, security boxes didn't work, one of the rooms had a broken heater that took a couple of days to address (they sent a small portable heater) and the cleaning person didn't always clean the toilet but all in all the location made our stay worthwhile.

Sydney is an incredibly beauftiful city, everywhere you turn you find something to leave you in awe. Must see's are the Opera House of course and the ferry boat ride across to the zoo is worth the trip itself.

“Will stay here again!”

We have just finished staying at the Sebel Surry Hills last weekend. Unfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working real well but as soon as we let the front desk know they tried to organise us with a room change. We didn't bother because we were only using it to sleep in. They however, did give us a fan to circulate the air which was great. The location is very convenient. Having stayed in the CBD before we chose not to this time because of the noise. Surry Hills is still really close to the CBD, close to the Central Train station and all the main bus routes. What is even better is that it is one street away from the Outlet shops. We are staying there again in January!

still not happy with the cleaness of the bathroom and our couch when i lifted the coushons there was dirt under them,room service they always dont listen to yr order properly

“Hotel was overrated. It should only be 3.5 stars at best.”

This hotel was rated 4.5 stars and, in my opinion, it's definitely overrated. First, the carpet in the elevator was worn out and dirty. We found scratches everywhere in the elevator. When we walked into the hallway of our room level, again the condition of the carpet could not even meet the 3.5 star standard. Scratches were everywhere on the doors of the hotel rooms. The electronic door lock of our room was even broken. Our room was spacious but the condition definitely required some work. Paint was peeling off at the corner of the wall and the lower part of the bathroom door. The air vent in the room looked quite dirty. The design of the room was very plain. There were cracks in between the bathroom tiles on the floor and the wall. The only two things I can commend on are the location of the hotel, which is only 3-minute walk to the Central station and 15-minute walk to the Darling Harbour and Liverpool Street. The staff members at the hotel were courteous and helpful.

Dining

If you like Thai food, try Spice I am on Elizabeth Street. If you want to enjoy a nice walk on the beach and a nice lunch there, take a train to Cronulla and have lunch at the Sealevel Restaurant. I don't recommend spending too much at the restaurants along the sea walk at the Darling Harbor.

“Worked well for us”

We spent two enjoyable nights in Sydney based in this hotel - real handy to Central Station..pleasant walk down to the Opera House past Hyde Park, the Cathedral and old military buildings. Convenient to Chinatown..public transport is brilliant . Staff were helpful, and the bar has a small casino which was lucky for us! A good deal all around!!!!

“will retutn to this hotel”

very good hotel, location is excellent ,staff very helpful . the walls however are very thin and internal noise can be irritating, install soft closing doors,that said the hotel is first class
