“Definately value for money”

We booked this hotel as a last minute anniversary get away for the October long weekend. Obviously being last minute we were limited to where we could stay unless we wanted to pay in the 1000's of dollars for two nights. We assumed we would be 'settling' staying here. When we arrived we were suprised at actually how close to Circular Quay and The Rocks we were. The service from the front desk staff was fantastic. When we entered our room I was blown away by the view. Nothing better than turning over in bed and seeing a full view of the Opera House (it's a shame we had to close the curtains at night lol). Our room was cleaned and mini bar stocked - the mini bar prices were amazing - cheaper than most of the bars - our first night after returning from dinner we sat on our balcony drinking from the mini bar - cheaper, and we ha the view. My only real negative point would be that it is a little old. It could do with a bit of money being spent on it. But the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate in returning in the future.

Must see
We went on the Tall Ship Twilight Cruise on the harbour. A beautiful BBQ provided by staff, an all you can drink wristband for $20 (this is Sydney after all so a great price). After a while they turn off the engine and we were sailing in the harbour. Nothing better than peacefully floating with a glass of champagne - highly reccommend it.

“Great Location”

The hotel is well situated. The standard room was a little small . The front desk staff were very good and helpful . We had a few fire alarm issues in the night which turned out to be false, thankfully . Otherwise everything was good .

Area recommendations
We like the Rocks area it is close to Circular Quay where the ferries leave from The train station is also there . The hop on hop off bus also can be caught there.

“Location was great, Hotel is a bit dated....”

The location in the Rocks was wonderful. Everything you need/want to do in Sydney is within walking distance. My chief issue was simply that the hotel could use a bit of a face lift. Also, be aware that 2nd floor rooms are actually at ground level. Think floor to ceiling window that faces into a small, alley-like pass through. While I was concerned about the safety of my stuff, nothing untoward ever happened. Finally, the "breakfast" that is served by the restaurant (if it's not part of your package) will be expensive and is what we refer to in the states as a "continental breakfast." Not at all worth the price the hotel charges. When all said and done - great spot to stay with the boys for a nite out on The Rocks, but the wife would not have been impressed with the accommodations. Cheers!

Area recommendations
The Rocks can't be beat! Pubs, tourist-y stuff, the market on the weekends. Everything a traveler needs close at hand.

“Recommend this hotel. Great location and good facilities and nice staff”

The hotel smelled clean and fresh and staff were very courteous and helpful on check in. I asked for a balcony and got it. The room was a good size. The air conditioning worked well and there was quality tea and coffee. The shower worked really well. The cleaning of the room could be tweeked a bit. The kitchen benches were not wiped down and the vanity hadn't been wiped around. It was Christmas so maybe there were fewer staff. The doona cover needed a clean too as there were marks on it. Overall we were very happy

Area recommendations
The Rocks for the interesting sights, good eating places and close proximity to everything you want to do and see
Getting around
Easy to get everywhere from here. Just a few minutes walk to the ferries and buses, monorail
What to pack
Sydney can be wet, hot and humid at Christmas. A spray jacket and fold up umbrella were useful and lots of casual clothes. Take shoes you can walk in as there are so many interesting walks around the water and through the Rocks area. Pack smart casual for eating out, nothing too formal
Dining
Lots of choice in the area. Prices for eating were a bit high but it was Christmas when we were there. Everywhere was open and we had some fantasic meals. Recommend the Rocks Cafe for nice food and quick, efficient service. Do not recommend the Bakers Oven - very rude staff and very disorganised
Outdoors or beach
The ferry trip to Manly is nice for a day out. We did a walk through the Botanical Gardens to Wooloomoloo and it was lovely as you can walk close to the water .

“More than impressed!”

We were impressed before we'd even entered the country! We'd sent a couple of emails with minor queries about our reservation and responses were sent within 5 minutes! The staff were the epitome of professional and the hotel itself more than met expectations. We stayed in one of the gorgeous Historic Terraced Houses and thoroughly recommend this option - the perfect option for soaking up the historical nature of The Rocks whilst also having access to a wonderfully warm pool, spa & sauna and other hotel facilities.

“You can't beat the location”

We booked the hotel knowing the location, but otherwise it is a basic hotel. The reception staff were most helpful, the breakfast menu very simple and so we chose to eat out at the many small cafes in the area. Proximity to town is another drawcard.

Area recommendations
The Rocks area with its many interesting buildings and history.Additionally there are many eating places and a wonderful outlook no matter which way you turn.

“Exceptional pleasant stay”

Very quiet location in a vibrant area! Very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay in a one bedroom apartment immensely, would definetely recommend it to anyone who is new to Sydney and want to homely feeling. I couldn't believe how spacious it was!

Area recommendations
The Harbour Bridge is literally only 1-2 minute walk away from the front door of this hotel.
