“So, So,”

The arrival by car was not easy. Went around and about twice before I could make out that I had to park in the street. Some sort of indicator would have been nice.

Area recommendations

The hotel was in good reach of most amenities in Sydney. Hard to choose as there would be a list too long for me to spend more time on.

Getting there

Probably easier by train and much easier by taxi. If driving stay away from peak hour traffic times.

“Next time I go to Sydney this is where I will stay.”

We were particularly impressed by the assistance at all times from staff. Their friendly attitude from the door staff to the dining room was at all times exemplary and they present an example for other hotels to follow. Especially we would like to mention the dining room staff who assisted us with a birthday breakfast for our family. We had several small children with us and the support and assistance of the staff in addition to the wonderful food cannot go without mention. All had a wonderful time even though they were not staying there and came to visit. We will certainly go back. I would also like to mention the domestic staff who looked after our rooms and the wine waiter who was very knowledgeable about Australian wines.

Area recommendations

The Rocks is a historical area and very interesting for a first time visitor to Sydney. I have, however, been visiting Sydney for many years and still find it worthwhile.

“Quick Getaway”

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. It has been some time since last staying at this hotel, however it was as comfortable as I remembered.

Area recommendations

Spend some time in and around Haymarket and enjoy the Chinese/ Asian influence in food.

Dining

Dining from fine dining at Becasse to casual dining in Haymarket, then a great night of tasting plates at Ms G's. (Make sure you try the lamb ribs! Yum). All close to the city and easy enough to find.

“My Fave Sydney Hotel”

I chose Blu as I had stayed their previously. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very plush, just love the spacious bathrooms and the huge beds. The large rooms allow you to spread out and not feel confined. But, I keep going back for the location, a few mins walk to Circular Key, Rocks, Monorail, and shops as well as a train station at your doorstep. Last visit I used Blu as my centre to visit shows as well as footy. This time, I wandered as a tourist and included Darling Harbour. Infinite eateries are available within a few mins walk or easy public transport travel. Blu gets better each time as I discover more about the local area, I can't see me staying anywhere else now.

Area recommendations

I would recommend this area as Sydney features are either within a few minutes walk or the relevant public transport is. Easy walk to train, monorail and ferry. Plenty to do without spending a cent.

Family-friendly activities

Walk to Circular Key, plenty to see, Botanical Gardens, Rocks, Observatory Hill. If you want to spend money catch a ferry to Luna Park, Zoo, Manly Oceanworld and Beach.

“Great place to stay”

I stayed here for three nights and thought it was a great spot to stay in Sydney. It's walkable to heaps of places and in a good quiet central city location. Staff were wonderfully helpful and the room was a great size, clean and comfortable. My only grumble was that the pillows were too high and a replacement one wasn't a lot better, but - that's nothing in the scheme of life. I've stayed here three times now and would not seriously consider going anywhere else for the price.

Area recommendations

A really nice walk is down Pitt St to Circular Quay, and then around Benelong Point (past the Opera House) and then through the gardens. Go early and watch the morning sun sparkling on the Opera House. Make sure to have a look at both Mrs Macquarie's chair and Mrs Macquarie's folly. The Art Gallery is a delight. And just wander through the winding streets and look for remaining examples of colonial and Victorian architecture - they pop up in unexpected places.

“Very enjoyable stay.”

I would definitely come back to this hotel if I return to Sydney. Love the location & service. The Spa Suite is very spacious. It only takes 5-10 min walk to the hotel from Wynard station which is on Circular Quay line, the direct line to domestic airport. Very convenience.

Area recommendations

Anywhere within walking distance to subway station on Circular Quay is great because there is no worrying about dragging the luggage for a long distance or changing station. From the hotel, it takes about 20-25 min to World Square, and there are a lot of shops on the way (Pitt Street). Excellent.
