I liked the breakfast, & the compactness of the Hotel venue.. room was fine. Staff not easily accessible when needed. PIN numbers for door entries, frustrating.. would prefer swipe card… over all OK… just needs abit more availability of staff.

We stayed for 2 nights, the room was nice and had everything we needed. The only comment is that bathroom cleanliness could be improve. Other than that everything was great

Room did not look like the pictures and was very small with one person living in the room for the past two months who was quite disruptive (waking others at 4 am etc). At one point I was told by another person renting a bed in the room that a number of people had been in the room earlier that day when we were out that had not paid to stay in the room.

Friendly staff but the building is very old. Only 2 single showers per floor -approximately 50 people no power point in bathrooms. Only 2 separate toilets no sink. Rooms very small. Bathrooms really dirty despite cleaning every night.

Friendly staff but disgusting facilities
Staff were friendly but shower was slimy and disgusting, the insect nets on the windows were caked in dust (not great if you're asthmatic), and the stairwell smelt like pee. The room itself was bearable - the only thing stopping us from finding new accommodation. They also emailed us AND asked when we checked in for payment (which we had already done via Expedia), and their sign outside says Red Star Backpackers, not Syndey Star.

The hostel was in a good location, near King's Cross Station and convenient for restaurants. The bedroom was clean and the wifi worked fine. The receptionist was pleasant. The communal bathrooms, especially the ladies' shower, could have done with a really good deep clean and were not particularly nice to use - especially with the mix up of water taps.

Decent hostel
You get what you pay for. I stayed in a private room, it was clean and the bed was sufficient. The shared bathrooms were usually very clean. The service given by the staff varied, some staff were very good and interested in helping you and answering questions others were fairly disinterested in my existence, but the reception is open early till late which was handy. The location is great for catching trains or buses as they are only a short walk away. Also in walking distance are plenty of cafes and pubs and cute parks.

Budget and disappointing
Great location and yes a non party hostel for some peace and quiet but sadly not recommended as it needs a bit more care and attention. Sheets were clean but everything else a bit unhygienic. Showers were definitely ones to keep your flip flops on in. Kitchen looked clean but smelled like death. Room dirty and not cleaned (shown by the fact the bin wasn't emptied in the 3 days I was there). Roof terrace nice but again, unloved and dirty. Some flowers or a bit of care wouldn't go amiss. All could have been overlooked as normal hostel experience if the rooms and beds had been more geared up to travellers' needs. Mainly light and electricity. Been a long time since the only light in the room was the overhead one with only one switch. No personal lights or accessible plug sockets for each bunk. Nor were the bunks sturdy, but cheap metal ones which moved with you. The room was very small for 4 people and a floor fan was never going to cut it during summer. Plus the windows didn't really open. No storage space to the floor was cluttered. It just felt like no thought was actually given to what people in hostels might like in their stay. Yes it's budget and you won't die from staying there but maybe just pay the extra few dollars per night for a YHA

Located not in nice area, homeless people and drunk people around (based on walk back to hotel at 9pm) Ads written this backpacker has parking but it hasn't, parking at street, free at weekend, charge at weekdays. Room not clean, my gf said girl toilet very dirty. We use YHA Blue Mountain the night before and it is totally different experience.

Good hostel.
Room clean. No TV in the room. A little cold and they gave us two single blankets when we paid for a double room. Dodgy characters in the neighborhood. Other than that would stay here again.

The location is 5mn walking from King Cross Station. 20mn walking from CBD and Opera House. Its unfortunate that you found inconvenient. To charge your phone. All you need is to come to reception and ask for an adapter. We are pleased to help you. We are sorry to hear you have problems with it.

Nice hostel with good location!
Great budget hostel with good and pretty clean facilities with everything you need. Friendly staff and nice rooftop! Was also mostly quiet at night. Would really recommend staying in this hostel.

Your room has been cleaned thoroughly and improvements made to ensure our guests feel more comfortable. Our rooms are also routinely inspected by our housekeeping staff. We would have appreciated if you had brought this matter to the attention of our reception staff so we could resolve the matter in a timely way. もう利用する事はありません。There is nothing to use anymore.
Location is good. Near the station of bus and train. Room is no good. space is too narrow. I put it on the bed because there is no space to put the backpack on the floor. And shower room there is only one. Un comfortable. And the worst thing. I made payment for Airbus but they had not made a reservation. But they doubted me. (But only Asian staff is good person.) Because Airbus did not come, I was about to be late for flight time.

Hello Guest, We apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. since you have stayed with us there have been several changes to the rooms to make our guests feel more comfortable and space to store their belongings. Likewise with the showers several improvements have been made to our existing facilities. Each floor of the backpackers has two shower facilities with an additional shower block on the first floor. Nothing is good about this accommodation
Not even close to public transport, Dirty and tiny bed room, bathroom was even worst.. I saw hookers just cross the road. They have only 2 showers in a floor. youhave to wait forver to use. Breakfast was awful even it was free. I stayed at backpackers plenty times around the world and this place is the worst ever.
