“The midle of the city”
Nice stuation for bisiness and holiday.
“Excellent choice for city center at affordable rate.”
Further to my ratings, my floor had clothes washer, dryer, iron, even the detergent was provided. It's safe to stay. I discovered it after arriving at the hotel that it was operated by the oldest Masonic Club of NSW.
“Top Spot”
Great location off train from airport and checking in 2 minutes later. Top position to walk to all points of Sydney CBD. Bars, Tab"s, taxis, shops for groceries, bottlo, maccas, hungry Jacks and heaps of little shops within 100 yards. Best value for money I've seen anywhere in Australia.
“Good location, that's it.”
If location is the number one consideration then this hotel fills the bill. But otherwise there are many reasons to stay away- room is tiny, luggage room is tiny (we put in our luggage as we arrived early in the morning, and then when we came in before noon to check-in we couldn't retrieve our bags as they were pushed back and under many bags that were stored). No real restaurant in the hotel but many beside it. Good for one night but this was enough for us.
“Old world charm in perfect location”
In the days of the 'you could be anywhere' bland hotel rooms, the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel was a refreshing change. In a heritage building while the room was small and lacked that slick contemporary style it was charming, comfortable and very clean. The service was very good and although there were some maintenance issues they were minor. There is no hot breakfast available and the continental breakfast was basic but cheap and there are plenty of cafes and other places within short walking distance. It is very centrally located for buses, trains, shopping, Hyde Park within short walking distance - just around the corner. I will use it again.
“Could be better”
Great location but undergoing renovations to the dining room so restaurant wasn't open. The room was very small and there was building going on nearby. So the overall experience could have been better.
“Very impressed and top customer service :))”
We are satisfied with our stay at the Casleraegh Boutique Hotel. 8.5 out of 10 :)). Customer service was excelent but the only difficulty we had was to get the shower water temperature right :)). Cheers
“Great service and location”
Very happy with our stay at the Castlereagh. The service offered was wonderful, the location is just great and our overall satisfactionwas very good. we will definately stay there again (assuming a similar value expedia deal) The authentic style furnishing is charming and made for a nice change. The room we had was a little smaller than we like but nothing that would stop us going back. The aircon works AND is QUIET!
“Most Impressive”
Great spot, marvellous for Sydney Centre business or stay, lovely people.
“Bed Bugs”
We arrived at the hotel late at night too tired to take in the room. At 7am the next morning we discovered there was a construction site right next door. There was no mention of this upon check-in. If that wasnt bad enough, when we returned home we discovered that we had been bitten by bed bugs. Also the photos on the website are not a true likeness to the hotel. The rooms are small, dark and not properly maintained. I would not reccommend this hotel.
