I love this hotel. It has a lot that’s appealing. I stay here for a week every year and have for about 12 years. I love that the rooms have kitchens and washers and dryers. It does however need some updating. The televisions are old and not in HD. They also don’t offer any smart TV access or premium channels. I think this would go a long way to making the stays nicer. The shower is also terrible. Bathroom remodels would make these apartments much much better. I’ll definitely be back but would love to see some modernization!

I didn’t receive my VIP reward and I’m very disappointed that I was given the run around. The bathroom was mouldy and when asked to have it cleaned, the receptionist said the cleaners are busy til tomorrow. Very poor. Won’t be back! Definitely don’t recommend this hotel.

Outdated apartments & huge cockroaches
We spent 15 days at Adina Surry Hills during Christmas and New Year's Eve. The apartment is very outdated. The pictures are heavily photoshopped and incredibly misleading. The furniture, cupboards, doors, and curtains were disgustingly marked and broken, as if no one had washed them for 20 years. Considering how expensive it is, I wouldn't recommend it. The apartment was not clean upon entry. It had a peculiar smell, breadcrumbs on the kitchen counter, hair in the bathroom, an empty handwash soap container, fingerprint marks all over the windows, and sticky surfaces, handles, fridge, etc. The staff was nice, but it wasn't a wow welcoming experience. We found cockroaches in the kitchen from day 1. They performed a "deep clean," but it wasn't very effective as cockroaches were found in the next days, including on the balcony and in the bathroom. We intentionally left the dead cockroach in the living room, and the cleaners didn't even collect it. It was Xmas time and NYE, so we didn't have a lot of options and decided to stay. The location was amazing, and the views from the 4th floor were great, but the balcony and furniture were so outdated and old that it wasn't inviting to spend time there, let alone with the presence of huge cockroaches. The garden area is beautiful, really nice, but the pool was dirty, and the water had a green color, so I didn't bother using it. I am sorry to say, but I wouldn't recommend that place.

Good friendly place to stay
Nice place to stay for a family of 4. Amenities are nice and tidy, large pool doesn't have any shade other than early morning and late afternoon. Plenty of places to eat out, as well as woolworths within a short walk. Bus stop is close but the Light rail stop is a bit longer of a walk. Would happily stay there again.

Nice accommodation in Surry Hills
Spacious apartments in trendy Surry Hills, and only a 5-10 min walk away from the Surry Hills light rail stop. There are lots of fantastic bars, pubs and eateries in the area. Our apartment was serviced daily, but some areas weren't as clean as should be - eg, the balcony and balcony furniture and the glass door leading to the balcony. There was also a sock left in the dryer by previous guests and cutlery in the dishwasher. I didn't receive my Gold member benefits (bottle of wine and upgrade) but the staff did distribute bottles of Prosecco and a goodie bag to all of the guests on New Years Eve, which was a nice touch.

Great location, with busses and tram stop by minutes walk. It's also along a street with lots of eateries, cafes, bakeries etc. There's also a lovely little park down the road that our little one enjoyed visiting and playing at.

Great size 2 bedrooms apartment, good kitchen, lots of crockery. Confortable bed and sofas. Swimming pool was nice on hot day. Only issue was regarding the bathroom was not very clean especially behind the entry door and the shower screen rail door. Kitchen tap was not secured to the sink. We still did enjoyed our stay.

Disappointing, dirty and not what we paid for
The good: front desk and housekeeping staff friendly and as helpful as they could be. Location great, room spacious. The bad: bedding configuration (despite being confirmed with us on booking and the day before arrival) incorrect meaning 2 of us had to share a bed for the first night. The offered alternative of a small rock hard rollaway bed was not sufficient in our opinion. Although this was remedied the next day (only because we forced the issue), no compensation for the ridiculous first night arrangements were offered, and the manager Ben never returned my calls after the second morning. The duvets on the replacement bed were stained (looked like dried blood). The elements on the stove turned off and on of their own accord, requiring someone to monitor the stove at all times that it was turned on at the wall. The rangehood didn't work. No salt and pepper in the apartment, which is unusual given a full kitchen was provided. This would have been a lovely stay if care and attention to detail had been in play. We found out from the front desk that the person setting the room up on the day of our arrival had flagged that the bedding situation was not what we had booked, but no-one seemed to care at that point, which is disappointing. Thankfully hotels.com were accommodating and did their best to assist us. We would have been even more disappointed had the great team at hotels.com not been able to assist.

Arrived at 7 concierge wasn’t available had to call a mobile number and wait 10 min to be let in Apartment wasn’t cleaned properly long hair in the bathroom and shower towels were missing shower head didn’t work And over all cleaning was terrible

The property is in a great location - easy waking and bus and light rail access and a variety of shops cafes and restaurants nearby. Apartment was large, comfortable and well equipped.

Had the best sleeps, the bed and bedding was so comfortable. Kids enjoyed the gym, lots of great restaurants within walking distance and staff were friendly. We'd stay there again. Despite having a large kitchen, the utensils seemed a bit sparce, I don't know why they go to the effort of building a great kitchen but then skimp on what one needs to actually use it! For starters, at the very least I expect a coffee plunger, if not a percolator or cheap pod machine these days.
