Great place to stay.
Dog friendly, and great location. However you may need to be aware that the access to main living space is up 14 wooden stairs. We had to teach our to go up and down, slowly. I would imagine some older people having difficulty with this too.

Thankyou for staying with us. It is very clear that this is a 2 storey house with spectacular views from the upper storey so of course that is where one would position the living area. The beautiful tas oak staircase has a handrail too.

Property even better than Location
Big Roaring Beach is a great location so the property has a head-start. That the accommodation is pretty much faultless really helps it stand out. Great design, comfortable furniture and bedding, and all the extras one could want to enjoy the stay. The wood-burner is particularly impressive.

A restful stay in paradise
This was one of the top properties we have ever stayed. The house was brilliant and even the dogs loved being able to get out on the decks, into the safe yard and to take numerous walks along the beach. Two nights and we feel completely rested. Everything we needed was provided in a well appointed kitchen. The living area and outdoor areas were fantastic, the bed was great and I am fussy about beds. We will be back.

Brilliant property
As you step through the front door and climb the stairs you are instantly surprised by the cleanliness, the view and the inclusions. We immediately felt relaxed and at home. The property had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The internet connection was brilliant and the wood fire kept us toasty. The kitchen was so functional. The proximity to the beach was perfect and private. A G&T at sunset on the deck with local salmon, pate, cheese and fruit overlooking the ocean was the best. Our pooch also loved the space and had plenty of room to play. Highly recommend this property for those wanting to have time out in a quiet private location. Dover is close enough if you need anything. The Huon salmon farm HQ is also worth a visit at Police Point a short drive away. We will be back. Loved every minute of our stay.

Fabulous!
Thank you for having us in your home. This property is perfect, I was greeted with the warmth from the wood heater and I instantly felt at home. This home has everything you would want or need. It’s an extremely comfortable space to live in. It’s fully fenced so Fergus could run about and explore. The view was my highlight, to be so close to the water and hear the waves crash on the beach. Wow! We loved our strolls along the beach. Definitely come and stay again

House was perfect. Yard was a great safe place for our fur babies. Accessibility to the beach was fantastic and the chairs marking the track was a great landmark. Had everything we needed and the upstairs was beautiful and warm on our arrival knowing that the fire had been lit although we arrived much later than expected and it had gone out.

This is our second stay at this property. That says it all. Comfortable, clean, warm and peaceful. One minute walk to the beach. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is so relaxing. A real life meditation app!

this was our 4th stay at Roaring Beach Retreat - it never disappoints. It is consistently clean, has a very well stocked kitchen (cooking equipment and sharp knives!!!), and the pantry has lots of those things that you tend to forget (like cling wrap). Honni, the Host is very responsive, and is always very accommodating and helpful. we all love the proximity of the beach - especially our doggos.

We felt totally welcomed!
This place was just perfect for our group of 4 aged adults - 2 couples. We LOVED the views from the bedrooms over to the Roaring Beach. But what we particularly liked was the decent homeliness of the place and the sense of being welcomed. Every single thing we wanted was there - a bottle of wine on arrival, lots of groceries in the cupboard, bandaids if we needed them - everything you would want to have in your own home and provided with a sense of generosity. We loved it!

Quiet haven with beautiful outlook
We throughly enjoyed staying at this property. It’s a very quiet location and a beautiful house. Plenty of seating for large groups in the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen and it’s great having the balconies with glass doors both sides to let the light in. The dogs loved having a dog door and secure yard. They were also very curious about the abundance of rabbits around the neighbourhood. We appreciated all the staples in the pantry, having power points next to the bed, the binoculars which added to the experience of relaxing on the balcony, and the abundance of DVDs plus chrome cast.

This property was just beautiful, so easy to access. All the essentials are there to just stay in & cater for yourself, taking in superb views from the deck. There is access from both the living area & bedroom onto the expansive deck to take in the views & enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the beach which just a short walk across the road. The beach is beautiful & our French bulldog loved, it's used by locals to walk their dogs. It was nice to have such a beautiful property & beach that was pet friendly. It's just a short drive into Dover if you feel the need to leave the property or for supplies at the local IGA. There's a fabulous Cafe that makes great coffee & their muffins are delicious, we chose to have these sitting on the beach enjoying the sunshine before we left this fabulous property, can't recommend more highly. Thankyou to Honni, it was to be a relaxing weekend escape before surgery & it was definitely that , we didn't want to leave. 😊

Well appointed house with everything you need or may have forgotten. Stunning location. Beach was beautiful and perfect for swimming. Some things to note: the location is very far from amenities, so factor in a lot of driving to buy food or get to places of interest. Also, one important thing missing: a coffee maker. Finally, we used the Franklin stove for heating upstairs - excellent, everything made easy to build a fire.

The property is indeed pet friendly but just a word of caution for those whose dogs don't do well on lengthy and/or narrow stairs (indoors) we could not enjoy our pup's company while enjoying the loveliest living area and outlook.

Wow! we arrived at the property very wound up and shell shocked, but that all fell away when we entered the house. we were very impressed with the property, i think all our needs were thought of, even down to a lead for your puppy should you realise your pup has chewed it's led. As for my husband and 2 grandchildren, we were comfortable and found a suitable film from quite a large selection of DVDs for our movie and popcorn evening. The beach was just over the road and a very short walk through the trees. We hope to stay again !

This is our second stay at Honni's beautiful home. Last time we came in the winter, so I was excited to be here in the summer! We had some really beautiful days and took advantage of swimming at the beach....we were really surprised how few people were there - it must be a hidden gem!! It's fantastic for families, the waves are small it's stays quite shallow for a long way. It's SO beautiful and clear water. We brought our two doggo's and I feel so comfortable knowing the yard and property is safe and secure for them. Fantastic consideration given to providing some extra doggie towels, leads, bowls etc. The pantry had some basics and we cannot fault either of our experiences. Excellent communication, lovely and clean, a very special getaway!

We have stayed here twice and we just adore this place. Our puppies loved sitting on the deck in the sunshine while my partner enjoyed the stunning view to the beach. Good scenery from the balcony over looking to the ocean. Property well equiped. Wood fired heater already prepared for us to use. The disappointment was internet out of service during our stay. That the reason overall is 3 stars.

A most disappointing review from Ivy as I bent over backwards to accommodate her needs. She was not dure her payment went through which I fixed. Then she wanted an early check in, then she wanted to check in a whole day late and even then, I was able to accommodate her for an extra night. The internet provider is working on the problem which is out of my hands. It's sad if you cannot go without the internet fir a couple of nights whilst at a retreat!
