“Not impressed”
too expensive for what they offer. Extra charges for parking and breakfast.
“A great small hotel”
We enjoyed our stay here. It was a small hotel without many amenities, but the location was 200 yards from a train station and the public transport is GREAT. The amenities included a wonderful breakfast each day, an elevator that went from the basement to the 1st floor above the lobby, but not to the 2nd (top) floor, and a very helpful staff, some of whom spoke good English, and all of whom cared about our comfort. This is not the place for people looking for an "American" style hotel, but very good for someone who can accept something good (but different from home.) This small hotel was a lot less expensive than the big ones downtown, and had more character. The location was good for access to the US Army installations (we had a son on base) as well as the airport and downtown Stuttgart. There are two good biergartens close by and a very good Greek restaurant in walking distance. We rented a car to go to Munich and Salzberg, (and a castle out of town). Most of our stay was car-less and we got around fine.
“Pleasant Surprise”
This was the first stop on my visit to Germany, Italy & France. After reading dozens of reviews of even more hotels, I booked the first & last night of my stay in Germany at the Hotel Flora. In between my daughter & I were traveling around Europe. I was not dissapointed in my choice. After traveling for 16 hours I was greeted by a friendly staff who spoke great English. It was only about a 5 minute walk from the U bahn, even pulling my luggage!. This provided easy access to all of Stuttgart & surrounding areas & connection to the main train terminal & airport for traveling further. I had only planned to leave my luggage until check in time, but the room was ready & I was able to check in by noon. The room & bathroom was typical size by US standards, very comfortable & clean. The shower was slightly small & they do not provide washcloths, only towels. There is a hair dryer already in the room. I would definitely stay here again.
