OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort

"I got the Bungalow with private pool and Butler service. There are no words to describe how amazing this place was. Well worth every $ spent. By the second day the whole staff knew us by name and said Bula everytime we met. The bungalow was very roomy and the pool clean. The resort has a wonderful landscaping with flowers in bloom all over. The buggy rides to places on the resort were very helpful being I had a bad ankle. If you go make sure you book a spa treatment. The place is outstanding. I think we might have been there at the wrong time , I was disappointed in the fruit selection. The IVI sea food place was the best ever. The crab cakes with the sauce was out of this world. I was very sad to leave. Very clean, friendly,peaceful and beautiful. There was even an adult pool and bar and restaurant."

"Pros- The bures were really spacious and the beds comfy, gardens lush and well maintained. Breakfast had enough choice. Staff were very nice and helpful. Cons- The resort is definitely in need of maintenance everything is starting to look like it’s falling apart particularly around the pool restaurant area. We didn’t have a hot shower the whole time we were there. The food was just ok and not many options around."

"The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the outside shower in our bure was FABULOUS! Menus provided a good selection and staff were so kind; they always remembered our names. If you want an active day, best plan on organizing your own activities. If all you want is to have is a lazy swim or go snorkeling, read a good book and have a nap, the is the place for you. Super chill, super relaxed. We didn't have our own transportation but were able to get to various destinations via the local bus, mini bus, taxi, and, of course, the express bus. Be prepared to be calm and flexible with waiting for your bus; sometimes they're full and you have to wait for the next one that, surprisingly, shows up quite quickly."

"A true immersion in Fijian culture, and a lovely island resort. Definitely not 5* but well looked after. The staff was very friendly, always enjoying what they were doing. On the negative, the snorkel is negligible. No coral at all, just a few fish."
Novotel Suva Lami Bay

"Overall, a very pleasant experience staying at Novotel. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering late check out, uninitiated by me, at no extra cost. I would definitely pay the extra for the second floor rooms (deluxe room and above). The increase in price is relatively minor, and the privacy and views from your balcony is well worth it. I would be wary of the restaurant, however. I ordered pasta that had a broken, oily sauce, and a creme brulee that was obviously baked and not actually brulee (no crispy sugar crust which is, let's be honest, at least 50 percent of that dish), and the custard was lumpy. That being said, I was genuinely pleased with my experience and, if I ever end up in Fiji again, this will be my go-to hotel choice (I'll just order delivery from another establishment). Pros: Excellent, friendly service. Lovely view. Very quiet and serene. Nice pool and lounging decks Beautiful lobby, bar, and restraunt. Cons: Generally clean, but I did see a dead cockroach in the hallway that was there for both nights and all three of my days at the hotel. Makes me a bit concerned about general cleanliness. There were a couple of broken things in the room, but nothing I couldn't live with. The food is suspect. I wouldn't order anything beyond basic sandwiches and such."

"Nice property, small enough to get around easily. Rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. Highlight was the soaking tub on the balcony and the enthusiastic friendliness of the staff. Low points: spa was meh, did not have the infrared sauna and cold plunge as advertised and the steam room was out of order. The food was really not good. Breakfast was poorly cooked, like raw bacon and hard boiled poached eggs that took forever to get. I had dinner at their fine dining venue, also not good. The best was the pool grill where I had a nice chicken tajine with quinoa. The New Zealand ice cream for sale is to die for. At one breakfast, I asked for a second latte to take away and I was charged $10. That type of nickel and diming is unpleasant. The staff occasionally breaks out in song which is really lovely and they are quite talented. Lots of kids around so I am thinking this resort is more family leaning and not really romantic."

"The resort was so laid back and relaxing. We were treated like family by the staff. Their breakfast buffet was excellent and other meals at the restaurants were also very good. We both had massages at their spa and highly recommend it. We had an issue with our rental car not starting, and 3 of the employees went out of their way to make sure that we got it resolved. Overall, we highly recommend staying at this beautiful resort. The grounds and vegetation are gorgeous, including a beautiful Lilly pond by the spa."
