“Great service - everyone very polite & personable”

My wife & I travel a lot around the world. A comfortable hotel in a great location where our needs are met - even anticipated - is important to us. We are pleased to share that this hotel exceeded our expectations and we would would be very happy to spent more time there on our next visit to Singapore. Principal among our impressions was that the staff have been highly trained - kudos to the managment for such a high quality team.

“Mandarin Oriental anywhere has to be the best based on this experience.”

The hotel was beautiful, service and food at restaurants first class. Rooms lovely, amenities over the top. Everyone remembered my name after one meeting, cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. I can't wait to stay in a Mandarin Hotel in another part of the world.

Area recommendations
The Marina Bay area is convenient to walk just about everywhere. Although Orchard road area is more upper class for shops and restaurants, we enjoyed the convenicnce of the bay area for tourist things...such as boat rides and the Sinapore Eye. The hotel was so stellar, it became our haven after sightseeing. If you want to be in the middle of the restaurants and high end shops, then the area in Old Orchard Road is prime. We've done both, but preferred the Marina. Taxi's are inexpensive and the city's rail system is awesome. Anywhere in the city you feel perfectly safe be it in the middle of the night and daylight. A great city.
Dining
We never had a bad meal while we were there. But the Taste Restaurant at the hotel was phenomenal. We also ate at the Ritz Chinese restaurant. Authentic Chinese. But any little out of the way place we stopped, the service and food was good. Little India was fun with good street hawkers.

“IF you want personal service- the hotel is Mandarin Oriental”

The Mandarin always treats you like it is your own hotel. By mistake put me in a smoking room but fixed it immediately. I walked into the restaurant for lunch and they called me by name and asked if I wanted the table where I sat at for breakfast. They remember who you are and remember your preferences. That is service that is hard to beat especially when you are traveling alone!!

Area recommendations
In Singapore, the hotel in centrally located to the best areas for shopping and just walking through for interest.

“Fantastic Spa, excellent room service and a lovely pool”

I regularly travel to Singapore and this was my first stay here. The Mandarin Oriental in Singapore is a lovely hotel, with all the usual luxuries one expects from this hotel chain. For me 3 things stood out: - The hotel has a fantastic Day Spa with professional therapists. I had several massages during my visit and all the therapists were excellent! - The pool at the hotel is lovely, although be early to nab a good spot. - The room service menu is excellent and food really good. I know Singapore is a foodie's dream, but sometimes after a long day of work room service is all one wants. The Mandarin Oriental really delivers, with an extensive menu and lots of options. Great food, including some good local selections. The hotel is in an ideal location for business, with a mall close by. It is a cab ride form the Orchard road shopping strip.

“Mandarin Oriental Singapore experience lives up to the reputation”

The Mandarin Oriental lives up to its' reputation as an outstanding hotel. The rooms are outstanding in quality, decor, cleanliness, and size. I was on the top floor so I had outstanding views of the city and would recommend this to anyone staying there. I heard that the hotel exterior was a bit dated from a colleague of mine, but that was not my experience. I would recommend this hotel.

Traveller's tip
Well worth the small investment to get on top floors of hotel. The views are fantastic! There are walkways to adjoining hotels and malls that make it really easy to not have to get in a cab if you don't feel like it.

“Most impressive, lounge excellent location to watch New Year's fireworks”

This hotel is a 5 star establishment and is a wonderful property to stay in Singapore. For the price on Expedia, I think the hotel lives up to expectations for its service and rooms. One small disadvantage to offset the glowing review is the closest MRT station is quite a walk through a maze of shopping tunnels. However, the bus stop is just across the street.

Traveller's tip
Skip the hotel breakfast buffet and choose any number of mall eateries for a fraction of the buffet price.

“Wonderful stay!”

This hotel is real 5* hotel. We have stayed in few hotels in Singapore and this one is definetely the best so far. We stayed at this hotel from 25 Dec to 29 Dec 08. We had booked a standard club room and upon arrival at the hotel (6:30am) they notified us of an upgrade to a club room city view- we were very pleaased. Also the room was ready and we were able to check in early at no extra charge. After that they directed us to the club lounge were we had a beautiful champagne breakfast with the most amazing views of Singapore. The Oriental club is one of the best clubs we ever been to. In the evenings they have cocktails and spirits (open bar) and they also served canapes- very delicious food. The christmas buffet at the club lounge was amazing. The staf is very attentive and helpful. Also, I had my b-day while staying at the hotel and they surprised me with a delicious chocolate cake, bottle of wine and flowers delivered to our room. Nice touch! I highly recommend this hotel for your next stay- the club rooms add a little extra enjoyment to your holiday.
