“Outstanding Hotel in a great location”
The hotel was beautiful and although they over-booked themselves for the room type we reserved on Expedia, they gave us a free upgrade. The only complaints are that the Internet charges are rather high compared to others (over S$25) and when our flight was delayed and we needed to stay an extra night, they wanted to charge almost double the nightly cost we were currently paying even if we moved back down to the room type we had originally reserved. Bottom line is that it was a great hotel in a great location in the Raffles area, but they are more concerned about making money than taking care of customers.
“Superb location and amenities”
The Fairmont is in the heart of Raffles City area in Singapore--the location is near everything--including taxis, buses, attractions, museums, casino, mall is part of the hotel--eating downstairs in the mall is terrific--getting spa treatments is easy, hair salons are easy--Starbucks is in the mall also, etc.
“Best hotel ever for a reasonable price for 5 star!”
Very clean hotel with spacious room. Pool was great and tennis courts as well. Very friendly staff and always willing to help or provide advice.
“Fairmont SG is so so”
The fairmonts usually have exceptional service. This one in Sg not so much. The customer service at the front desk, the presidents club desk was very average. I had made a few requests on my arrival, which were lost. The staff was difficult to communicate with . And even at the presidents club desk, they gave a very poor reception. It didnt feel warm at all. Not sure if I would pay so much and go back to this fairmont.
“Fantastic”
Fairmont is across the road from the Raffles and is connected to the Raffles City Towers shopping complex. A fraction of th price of the Raffles with excellent facilities. Great German Bar on the corner.
“Happy Guest”
Excellent Hotel, wonderful location.
“Service other hotels should aspire to..”
Exceptional location for business or leisure. The hotel is geared towards the business user - this a very minor issue and on the upside, outweighs the 'suits' whilst enjoying your city break.
“Excellent Hotel”
The Hotel is located in an ideal location close to the MRT train stations which we found excellent to get anywhere in Singapore and there is a very good shopping centre next door to the hotel with a number of food outlets. The poolside bar offers real value for drinks during happy hour 5.30 to 8.30pm and has very pleasant surroundings as well as free WIFI. The staff were excellent and accommodated any requests without trouble. We will stay their again in the future.
“Special Service”
We had our 10 year anniversary on this trip and we mentioned it on the special notes when we booked through Expedia. The hotel surprised us with rose petals in the room spelling out "Happy 10th Anniversary". All the staff from the check in to the bell boy, and concierge wish us "Happy Anniversary" when we arrived. The Fairmont made it special! Room was great, bed was very comfortable. Location was wonderful as we are just above the MRT so we can travel anywhere. We have stayed next door at the Stamford a couple of times, but I prefer the Fairmont for its service and comfort. The pool was great for both our young kids (5 months and 3 years old). Shallow enough for my 3 year old to stand in the shallow end of the pool. All in all, a great experience at the Fairmont.
“Bad Coordination”
We got to the hotel at 1900 pm, but they said that we had to wait another hour before we could get into our rooms. I find this ludricous, as we were on a one night transit in Singapore and we had an early flight the next day plus my young children were with me. We had to ask for a senior member of the staff to sort things out as the receptionist was not helpful at all, and told us to just wait in the lobby and as soon as they have done cleaning they would inform us. Their reason for this is because they are fully booked. I thought when hotels are fully booked then there would be no late checkouts and it is not as if we were there at 1400 in the afternoon, it was already 1900!! Though they gave us an upgrade, the showers in the upgraded room was bad. What a painful experience
