From the terrace area, which is open to all with plenty of seats, tables and canopies, the view across the city was just great. We ate at the restaurant every evening during our four day stay, and the food was superb and reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and the towels were changed every day and the room was tidied and the bed made. They even folded our nightwear.
The staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was well catered for and we all had plenty to eat. I was surprised how low the bill was when we checked out. Bus tickets could be bought from reception and they also booked us a trip for wine tasting which was superb. The Hotel Garden is a great place to stay.
We had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a great location and is very comfortable. We were driving so the free parking was a real plus. Hotel staff were helpful in recommending some day trips for us. Nice buffet breakfast.
The hotel was spotless, the staff very helpful and friendly and Siena was amazing. We used the hotel as a base as it is close to all the public transport systems to get to other places such as Florence and Monteriggioni and it is incredibly cheap to use the buses and trains and they all run on time.
We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff arrange a great tour of an olive oil/balsamic vinegar/vineyard. Priceless. Also they arrange a city tour (a must). One misses a lot of information about the city with a self guided tour. Recommend great restaurants.

17th-century palace-turned-hotel in central Siena This historic hotel in Siena’s shopping district neighbors the Duomo and …More
What a wonderful find this hotel turned out to be, the reviews I had read are what made me pick it and in the end it exceeded my already high expectations. I travel all over the world for a living so I have plenty of experience when it comes to top hotels and I can honestly say this has been one of my favourite stays. I recommend this hotel 100% to everyone visiting Siena for a holiday, you will not want to go home afterwards. Beds are super comfortable and the rooms large and super modern and clean, the skylights and wooden beams in addition to the view add a touch of romance to those on holiday with partners. We spent two perfect days in a beautiful city and every time we walked past a hotel we agreed that we were so lucky to be staying at the Villa del Sole instead!!
"Good hotel in ideal location for exploring Siena"
We chose the hotel based on good reviews and the location. It did not disappoint. We travelled from Pisa by bus and the hotel was only about 200 metres from the bus station so no taxi was needed and therefore also very handy for the day trips to Florence and San Gimignano that we undertook. It was also on the edge of the main part of old Sienna, only 7 minutes walk to the Campo and all the main attractions and so completely satisfied all our expectations in terms of location. The hotel staff were in the main efficient but not over friendly apart from Brenda on reception who was very friendly and helpful. Our room was everything that could be expected of for this standard of hotel and of reasonable size. It also had a fridge which was a bonus and came in very useful. The bed was comfortable and the free wifi had a good strength signal most of the time. The breakfast was nothing special but was certainly adequate for our needs. We ate in the restaurant once and again found it OK and reasonably priced by Siena standards. Overall we really enjoyed our stay which was to visit our daughter who is studying in Siena for a year. We hope to come again and would certainly stay in Hotel Chiusarelli again.
