The hotel was spotless, the staff very helpful and friendly and Siena was amazing. We used the hotel as a base as it is close to all the public transport systems to get to other places such as Florence and Monteriggioni and it is incredibly cheap to use the buses and trains and they all run on time.
Siena was a last minute stop on our 2 week Italian adventure and couldn't be happier we booked here. Villa del Sole was a treat from the moment we walked in. This gorgeous little hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old town. Rooms were clean and simple and the staff were all more than accommodating. Breakfast is a nice spread of pastries, cheese, meat and jams with a nice little courtyard in the back.
Please note: if driving, hotel is a little tricky to access and you'll need to park your car outside the city walls but definitely worth it.
The hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly, especially the dinning room staff. The room was a bit smaller than I had expected but it was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a good area. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. There's a lovely balcony at the back of the hotel. Overal, a great experience.
From the terrace area, which is open to all with plenty of seats, tables and canopies, the view across the city was just great. We ate at the restaurant every evening during our four day stay, and the food was superb and reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and the towels were changed every day and the room was tidied and the bed made. They even folded our nightwear.
The staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was well catered for and we all had plenty to eat. I was surprised how low the bill was when we checked out. Bus tickets could be bought from reception and they also booked us a trip for wine tasting which was superb. The Hotel Garden is a great place to stay.
From our arrival on a beautiful sunny 20 September day to this wonderful peaceful hotel the warm welcome we received only matched the weather. We spent 4 blissful nights at this family run hotel where nothing was too much trouble, service was old style and first class.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff arrange a great tour of an olive oil/balsamic vinegar/vineyard. Priceless. Also they arrange a city tour (a must). One misses a lot of information about the city with a self guided tour. Recommend great restaurants.
