We had the good fortune to spend nearly two weeks in Italy, and during that time, stayed in 5 different hotels in different cities. Hotel Athena was without doubt the best of the group - we were delighted with everything about it. We asked for and got a room with a balcony with a terrific view. The terrace lounge likewise had great views, as well as good service (and we loved the Hotel Athena house red wine). The location was very good - just inside the wall, with free parking included - and all of the staff members were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was spotless, the staff very helpful and friendly and Siena was amazing. We used the hotel as a base as it is close to all the public transport systems to get to other places such as Florence and Monteriggioni and it is incredibly cheap to use the buses and trains and they all run on time.
Viila del Sol is an absolutely beautiful place with warm and welcoming people. The rooms and the incredible views are to die for. It was such great fun eating their delicious breakfast on the patio overlooking the hills of Tuscany. A truly fantastic stay.
The hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly, especially the dinning room staff. The room was a bit smaller than I had expected but it was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a good area. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. There's a lovely balcony at the back of the hotel. Overal, a great experience.
From the terrace area, which is open to all with plenty of seats, tables and canopies, the view across the city was just great. We ate at the restaurant every evening during our four day stay, and the food was superb and reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and the towels were changed every day and the room was tidied and the bed made. They even folded our nightwear.
The staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was well catered for and we all had plenty to eat. I was surprised how low the bill was when we checked out. Bus tickets could be bought from reception and they also booked us a trip for wine tasting which was superb. The Hotel Garden is a great place to stay.
We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff arrange a great tour of an olive oil/balsamic vinegar/vineyard. Priceless. Also they arrange a city tour (a must). One misses a lot of information about the city with a self guided tour. Recommend great restaurants.

From our arrival on a beautiful sunny 20 September day to this wonderful peaceful hotel the warm welcome we received only matched the weather. We spent 4 blissful nights at this family run hotel where nothing was too much trouble, service was old style and first class.
