nice hotel close to malls
I have stayed at both ibis hotels in Shenyang. I would have to say that it is the entire hotel staff, that makes the stay very enjoyable. unless you are looking for a 5 star hotel, I would definetly recommend ibis.

MY FIRST TRIP TO CHINA!!
The room was very basic, but had all the basic requirements, like a desk, tv and a really big double bedand an en suite shower. The hotel staff were very accommodating about where to find a bank and a fast food restaurant etc. I felt very safe and secure in this location.

IBIS hotel - good rate and comfortable
Pleasant stay. Just relaxed food and drink. Inexpensive cabs with metres can flag down easily outside hotel. Otherwise bargain RMB30 they will take you to Zhonghualu

We liked this hotel
The hotel is very tall, and from up there you can barely hear the traffic. The bed is soft! There are black-out curtains so we slept well.

Great base of operations
I was in town to attend the Shenyang Airshow...I had to catch a bus at 7:00 in the morning and got home late at night each day...so this is the kind of hotel you want: a place to sleep and wash up and be safe. Nothing fancy, but fancy not needed

You need to speak Chinese to stay here
Good location at centerof the city, good looking, huge building outside. But very old inside. No hotel staff speaks English. Very poor wifi connection even hard to send emails (Google is blocked in China) not to mention images. I had to call a staff to connect room tel3phone line!

The worst Ibis out of all Ibis hotels stayed in.
Although I asked for a non smoking room, the room was smelling as if they specifically smoked in the room. I asked for a room change but the receptionists don't speak English. They ask for a deposit for everything separately even though I had payed for the room in advance. Breakfast was completely insufficient. Room sheets were not clean. Heater doesn't work. Wall plugs were a disaster. Only Chinese Tv.

Short jaunt to Shenyang
Conveniently located in the middle of the city with subway stops and shopping close by, the subway station is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Nice and simple
Basic yet comfortable stay. Up to usual IBIS standards--the rooms are not spotless but are clean. Wood floors are nice with good water pressure from the shower head. The beds were really comfortable and the staff was super helpful and nice. There is a small Japanese restaurant in an alley right across the street that is SO GOOD. Close to a subway stop too which is nice.

Turned off heat and opened window. -15 degrees outside but stiflinf even with window open. Room was quite small.

Extreme no frills
Unless you enjoy sleeping on a box spring and not a mattress, this probably isn't the hotel for you. While the price is not bad and the room is clean, it is a bit bare in terms of comfort. There is a major shopping district to the west, about two blocks over, and is within walking distance of many tourist attractions if you don't mind walking. I would stay again if needed, but would probably spend a little more for a room with more comfort.

The general location of the hotel is good. There are coffee shops, food places, shopping malls, and movie theatre close by. The internet connection I thought should have been better. I use magic jack and if the internet connection is good then no problem. If it is bad it will drop calls. It was hit and miss at this location.

The stay was horrible. The ad on hotels.com was false. When we walked into the room, we were nearly knocked down by the heat. I could not call the front desk because, though advertised as multilingual staff, no one spoke english. My Chinese girlfriend called the front desk and reported the problem that the air conditioning did not work, they sent a repairman who fiddled with it and left saying it was working without testing it. I tested it and it did not work. Another call to the front desk got a response that there is no air conditioning, even though it was advertised and the device was a malfunctioning air-conditioner. A threat to find another hotel go their response of " good, leave but there will be no refund for the entire booking". The repairman returned and took the safety device off the window so we could open it and get some air. I will never stay at another IBIS property and I hope you will learn from my experience and save yourself some time and expense and avoid this one.

Basic Essentials Provided at good price
My stay this time at the hotel was not as good as previous stays. Still rate Hotel as good economical basic Hotel. The breakfast is OK if you opt to have it at hotel. The lack of Internet connection and service assistance was poor. Will go again when need economic basic hotel, because the location is good and room comfortable. For recent stays please read other reviews.

Economical and located well
The Ibis hotel is economical and great for overnight stays. The reception desk is friendly and efficient. Hotel is located only a short stroll from shopping malls, restaurants and small shops.The room is very basic with no frills, yet is comfortable. The desk is ample for lap top computer and the internet connection was trouble free. Rooms are quiet and water is hot for that nice shower. The towels are a bit old but effective. In summary affordable comfortable no frills hotel. I have stayed here 4 times now and very happy.

Basic economic hotel - great value
Location of hotel is great. Short stroll to shopping mall, coffee shops, restaurants etc. Don't expect luxury since the rooms are basic with comfortable bed, good size desk, internet and shower/wc. Plastic cups .For overnight stays while exploring or doing business during daytime, Front desk service was prompt and efficient. Only basic English but sufficient. it is such great value that I will be staying again.

The reception girl ("Sara"?) was lazy and has a "can't do" attitude. She said no to everything we asked, eg re-starting the PC on the lobby, and fixing the aircon in our room.

Flight delays. checked in past midnight. less than 15 minutes duration. despite no wireless in rooms, line hook up in my room was suspect. They suggested changing of rooms, but first, why not bring your laptop to another room just to make sure? Again this was a 10.00pm incident. It did not work either. Now back to my room they helped by calling duty tech who should have left for the day. She responded as she was about to leave the hotel. Fied my computer. That is going way out of their way. Wouldn't accept payment or tip. Even followed up the following day to see it problem is recurrent!!

The good hotel of economical efficiency
It is located at the center of a town as a name. closely to a subway station(Taiyuan jie) closely to zhongshan square. crown Plaza Hotel to the other side of the intersection. A view is also good in a high-rise hotel. (It is not an exceptionally great scene) An elevator hall and a shower booth It is slightly old. Air-conditioning is also satisfactory. In order to borrow a hair drier, the deposit of 200Rmb is required.

I have stayed at this IBIS a quite a number of times already and find it ok... you get what you paid for... the rooms are "clean-ish". The reception are helpful as possible. All without any problems... I personally never eaten breakfast for dinner there... does not look too great.. There is local food within few mins walk away so I tends to go for those instead. I would stay again when I visit friends in Shenyang.. great location, less than 10mins walk to metro station and shopping area.

during my check in in the middle of the night , the check in process was slow and staff attitude was not so good .room where i stay , the wall with some stains did not clean up. if they could provide small towel that would be better.

I thought it was clean, the room size and bed size were good, and the staff was very helpful. They had a computer I could use, since I did not have a laptop. The main complaint I have have is the room was warm. I had to keep the window open to get some air.

Ibis is good.

Good location but there is strong smell
there is strong smell in the lift area and the reception area, seems to be the smell of petrol the hotel is located at the junction road and so it was difficult for parking. the breakfast is not very good, even though it is cheap, but I think the cleanliness and quality must be maintained and the variety can be reduced. Overall the room is clean and in good condition

Rooms are clean but mattresses are rock hard. Internet didn't work in my room on both stays. Breakfast is advertised as 4 am to noon, but if you want breakfast early (before 6:30 am) you have to make reservations for that--they do not inform you of this when you check in. I found out when I went to breakfast at 5 am, hoping to have a bite before leaving at 6 am for the airport, but the restaurant was closed. Overall I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room. Also, plan on 30 mins by cab from the airport at a cost of $25-30 USD.

Ibiz give me what I need everytime
If I don't want to take any chance with a hotel I choose this one. They are all the same looking, but they are clean and cheap. I had to go to Shenyang to renew my passport. A few tips for those who are staying... I am living in China right now and where I am there is no starbucks, or even KFC. So if you are staying at the this hotel when you walk out the main door and look to your left there is an intersection. Take a right at the intersection there is a KFC (you will see it) about 3 mins walking. Next to it is a Dunkin Donuts. There is suppose to be a starbucks across the street from the Dunkin Donuts If you take a left at the intersection and go to the next set of lights you can take a left there is McDonalds, Basken Robbins, and a I love NY pizza joint. It's pretty great. If you take a right at the intersection you will find a subway. I know to a lot of people out there this is not interesting but we hadn't seen any of this for six months so we were pretty excited. If you are looking for a GREAT Indian restaurant look up Champas Indian restaurant. But either way Ibiz is a good hotel. It gives you what you need, a few bottles of free water and working A/C. But bring stuff from a store to drink and snack on... can drinks are expensive there, and late at night it's the only choice.

Ibis Hotel in Shenyang - about the location
I found t hard to reach the hotel by cab since the hotel entrance isn't really on the nan jing bei street. It's on a side street from the that road. For people who can't it, I would suggest to get off at the large Crowne Place just across the road. Then you'll have the Ibis hotel entrance on the side street on the right (the Crowne in your back).

It was the worst experience I've ever had in my life. The hotel was under construction so it was extremely loud from 8:00 to 19:00. They should have closed during this season, taking a rest was totally imposaible. Apart from service everything was disaster. Besides due to tue miscommunication between hotel.com and the hotel I had to pay again upon arrival no matter I paid in advance through the app.
