Top Shanklin Hotel Reviews

Red Lion Hotel by Greene King Inns
4/10 Poor
"First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. Parking is confusing. Do you pay or not? The shower head was broken and both the bath and the sink plugs didn’t work properly. There were wine stains on the plastic cups next to the sink, meaning they’re attempting to wash and reuse plastic cups, albeit poorly, tea and coffee is ok, Kenco, so at least it’s not Nescafé original. Mould in the toilet where it is poorly maintained. The bed is the main issue for me. Very poor. I had a rubbish nights sleep, and this is all due to the bed. Awful."

Royal Maritime Hotel, BW Signature Collection
6/10 Okay
"Visited whilst they are under some form of renovation, so lifts weren't working and it was a maze trying to find our rooms as there were no signs up. Lot's of construction mess everywhere. Breakfast was pretty poor, sausages seemed to have been cooked for 5days as they were tough as anything. Best thing was the evening meal in the restaurant, very nice food. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Stayed here as we were visiting the historic dockyards and the location was perfect for this."

Portsmouth Marriott Hotel

"Front desk staff especially Michelle is excellent but the guy there keeps on saying the water in the dispenser would be refilled but it never happened"

The Steamer Inn
10/10 Excellent
"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Steamer! The room was exactly as shown in the photo. It was fresh and clean. Hearing the sounds of the ocean all night is an added bonus! The pub and restaurant downstairs was the perfect place to go for great food and conversation. They even take the time to reserve tables for guests staying in the rooms. The staff were so attentive and involved; you couldn't tell who was the owner/manager and who was hired staff - a good sign of a well-run establishment! Thank you to you all! I most definitely recommend!"

Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
8/10 Good
"Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Great location, right in the centre of Gunwarf Quays. The hotel also offers extra discounts to shops and restaurants for guests. Parking was in the main carpark for Gunwarf, and if you validate at the hotel you get the first 24hrs for free and every day after for £2 (usually £28 for 24hrs) Biggest highlight was Wayne on the bar, made us so welcome, gave good recommendations and made us a laugh."

Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Loved our stay and so did our dog, especially the doggie sausage for breakfast! I made full use of the swimming pool and hot tub and had it to myself. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will come back."

Westbury Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Rosemary and David were very welcoming and friendly. They provide inside and outside areas for comfortable relaxation, attention to detail was evident."

"Much cheaper than the Premier Inn we tend to stay in. The only thing that I felt was a draw back was that as a Blue Badge Holder I couldn't shower because the shower was over the bath."
