Our Summer Retreat
We swam, ate and sewed - repeat. A wonderful getaway for 3 of us with friends popping in to join us some days. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chocolate Lily.

Wedding anniversary weekend
A beautifully presented guesthouse and property. We were impressed with the detail of the building and its eco-friendly and energy efficient structure. Cleanliness was outstanding and everything that we needed was provided, including tasty homemade ingredients for breakfasts. The surrounding property was secluded and peaceful though near enough for trips to Castlemaine, Bendigo and Maldon. The hosts were friendly and attentive to our comfort and their dog kept us amused in the pool! A very memorable weekend that we hope to return to in the future and would recommend to all.

Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful accommodation and location. The perfect get away
Booking and check in process was very easy. It was a long drive so was nice to find the essentials for a coffee/cup of tea available. Breakfast for the next morning was taken care of too. Gorgeous pool. We we're made to feel very welcome. Outstanding view. Hosts were very welcoming and Milo the dog was very friendly and played with the kids around the pool both evenings.

Cosy, relaxing retreat. We loved the home made bread and other breakfast treats. Sitting by the fire in the evening with the beautiful view was great

Beautiful property
Stunning views, lovely house. Very refreshing to stay somewhere, where the owners were environmentally aware. The house was very well appointed, but the kitchen was a little too small to accommodate our family of 5. As an introvert with social anxiety, i found it challenging that the owners were very present, they were lovely however and extremely helpful. The teens enjoyed Milo the very talented Kelpie for ball games! Highly recommend the Chocolate Lily for families.

Our Stay at The Chocolate Lily
A fantastic, restful, long weekend was something that the whole family needed so badly. The rammed earth main wall and Terrazzo concrete slab throughout the house, combined with clever Solar Passive design, meant that for the length of our stay we did not need to heat or cool the house even once. The kids loved the solar-heated pool, and the resident soccer playing Kelpie Milo kept them amused with her exemplary ball control and heading skills! Virginia and Peter have a lovely property, and some great sustainable living ideas can be seen throughout. Sensational views are at your doorstep, and a short drive takes you to nearby towns such as Castlemaine, Bendigo, and Maldon. Five stars ***** and highly recommended! Gary, Michelle, and Family The homegrown produce, and homemade food that was supplied for our family's breakfasts was excellent.

We spent a very relaxing time at Virginia's B&B enjoying the views and the sunset. The owners were friendly and were very helpful. The property was spotless and furniture and fittings were tasteful and comfortable. We would recommend this accomodation.

Spectacular property in the gorgeous country
Had a wonderful long weekend escape to this magnificent property with my family of 5. Very welcoming hosts who accommodated all our needs. Delicious food (best eggs you’ll ever eat), beautiful views, immaculate and modern appartment, lovely pool and fireplace. And also a very friendly kelpie (Milo) who patiently entertained our young children playing soccer. Thanks so much for having us!

a wonderful apartment in a gorgeous setting and the best hosts ever
The apartment is super spacious, very well furnished and equipped, the decor modern and unique, the focus on sustainability clearly visible. The breakfast goodies in the fridge ensure a healthy and delicious start of the day. The big pool with views of the surrounding hills (and kangaroos) is a bonus. The wonderful hosts and Milo, their friendly dog, make you feel welcome right from the start.
