Nice resort maybe for an older mature crowd, more activities would be great and more food varieties. A waterslide and maybe a night club would be good.

The buffets were decent. The Italian restaurant was by far the best. The rooms were small and we saw numerous roaches which made us all uncomfortable. Our toilet did not always flush and that was annoying. The staff seemed rigid and strict specifically the desk staff. The key cards were sometimes hard to keep track of due to you having to use one to use room electricity. Once we locked both keys in our room and had to get a 3rd key. Upon check out the desk clerk was like a drill sergeant asking about keys for both rooms. They were not always the nicest. The pools were nice and the entertainment team was great. Very friendly. We have stayed at other properties where room service was 24 hours and there were snack stations in various locations but the the Riu lacked in this department. Honestly, we will probably not choose this chain again for our yearly girls trip.

The food and scenery were great, it was a very relaxing scene with some entertainment such as performances and beach parties/disco.

Cons: had to rush to get breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cafe and kiosks had leftover food/snacks from Martha’s. Only bar with premium or top shelf liquor was in the lobby…you’re in Jamaica - Wray and his nephews should be flowing everywhere. Wait staff were surly and would only be helpful/pleasant if you “looked” like you tipped well. Pros: the beach was a little rocky but the breeze and the shaded loungers made it worthwhile. Lazy River was so much fun with the kids, the pool and daily activities were nice. The room was clean and spacious. Sunrise and sunset views from the balcony were beautiful.

This was my frist time at resort and it was quite an experience every worker and staff were very polite and helpful
