“Excellent Hotel”
The Sant Cugat H&R is an exellent,modern hotel. The staff were very friendly and spoke good english, clean rooms and very good service. It is not in Barcelona itself but in a suburb about 15 mins from the city centre. You are advised to book car rental if staying here. There is parking outside the hotel on the street so dont't pay the 10 euros to park in the hotel car park. The town itself has some shops/restaurants etc - overall, a good place to stay and much cheaper than Barcelona city itself. Well worth a visit - Cant't fault the hotel at all!!
“Great place to stay”
The restaurant evening meals and service were excellent. We particularly enjoyed discussing local wines with the waiter (who had worked in both London and Nottingham), which helped to add to the dining experience. We felt that the hotel description was accurate and so we weren't disappointed with our choice and would recommend it unreservedly.
“Ok - but I didn't get the non-smoking room that I'd requested.”
Despite requesting a non-smoking room and arriving early for check-in, they said they didn't have any more non-smoking rooms. They did upgrade me to a bigger room but it definitely smelled like smoke. I even told them that I was allergic to smoke and that it would give me asthma (which is true), but they just shrugged. I felt their customer service could improve greatly. Otherwise, it was a good hotel.
