“Beautiful spacious roon; excellent welcoming service”
Villa Soro is a beautiful boutique hotel and although only small in number of rooms, the rooms themselves are huge! Comfortable quality furnishings; oustanding cleanliness and excellent friendly attentive service from all staff. (The complimentary (non-alocoholic) drinks in the room's mini bar were also a welcome surprise!) Given the fabulous food in San Sebastian, we cannot wait to go back and know that when we do, we will stay at Villa Soro. Can easily say that throughout our 1-month holiday in France and Spain, despite stayng at a number of 5-star hotels, Villa Soro exceeded them all in room quality and service!
“Worth the walk”
We loved our stay at Villa Soro. To start with the negative- it is a bit of a walk from downtown San Sebastian- doable, but you should wear comfy shoes. This worked out well for us since San Sebastian is such a food town- a little walk each day was needed. The positives on the hotel include a beautiful room in the newer remodeled wing, English spoken by the front desk staff, free parking in the front of the building, and excellent suggestions for day trips. We truly loved it and would gladly stay there again (but this time we are bringing better shoes for the walk!)
“Outstanding!”
We were in Spain for two weeks and staying in multiple hotels. This was the most delightful surprise for us. What a special treat! We only wished we had planned to stay longer. We will definitely return.
“an oasis in San Sebastian”
The villa is a quiet retreat from the busy streets of San Sebastian. Although it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the old town and the beach, a cab ride is not expensive and the hotel (and bars and restaurants) will call a cab for you. Our room was very comfortable and included a small, outdoor patio, where we enjoyed a terrific dinner from the room service menu. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely return to this hotel.
“Great hotel in great area.”
Hotel Villa Soro is a beautiful small hotel situated in an area not far removed from San Sebastian's old town as well as its beautiful beaches. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. They stored our bags on our arrival as our room was not ready. They arranged transportation for our 1:00pm reservation at Akelare. We received maps and instructions on how to reach the old town and the beaches. The following day they gave us towels and two bottles of water to take with us to enjoy at the beach. I was a little disappointed that our room was in the 'basement' of the main house. The room, however, was large by any standards, well appointed and very comfortable. It had a large modern marble bath. The only source of daylight for our room was through a large window in a door which led to our private patio with table and chairs. This in fact offered us plenty of light. There were rooms on the second and third floor of the main building as well as an annex behind the hotel. Breakfast was served on a outdoor patio or you could eat indoors. The commom rooms were beautiful and we felt comfortable sitting in them to read the paper or a book. This hotel is in the luxury category. We would definitely return.
“Amazing!!!!”
I loved everything about this hotel! After our three night stay I did not want to leave!
