great staff at hotel ask or book a corner room the view is worth the extra close to many different resturants nice heated pool great location for public transport

“Good stay at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway”

I went to San Francisco with my boyfriend and we stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights. We were very happy with the room for the price we paid - it was spacious clean and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful with any requests we had. We were also pleasantly surprised with the area the hotel was located in, we felt very safe and there were bars/restaurants within walking distance. Our room was located on 18th floor so we had a lovely view but we were right next to the elevator and the noise was a little disturbing - thankfully I wear ear plugs anyway. I would recommend asking for a room away from the elevators if you are a light sleeper. I think the only thing we regretted was taking the BART into SF as when we arrived in Civic station it was pretty rough and we didn't feel safe walking around all the way up to the hotel. For our return journey we instead organised a hotel shuttle to take us back and it was around the same price as the BART + taxi fare we paid and we felt more at ease. All in all, we were very happy there and would visit again.

“Got more for our buck...”

The rate was super inexpensive. Good deal for what we got. The hotel was clean and in a good location. It wasn't in the heart of Union Square or anything, but it was easily accessible to cable cars, etc. The only downfall was that I don't think there were many bellboys. We had to get our own luggage cart and do that ourselves otherwise we'd have to wait forever. That was the only problem.

“super close to cable cars, buses and taxis”

We were only there overnight for the Niners v. Bears game and didn't rent a car. The hotel was RIGHT across the street from a shuttle that took us straight to the doors of the stadium. Hotel was very nice, a little small. Free breakfast was a nice touch considering our time was limited. Would stay there again.

The hotel was excellent. Staff had the right mix of warmth and professionalism. The location was excellent with easy access to downtown, Fisherman's Wharf and Height Ashbury disttrict. The surrounding area is friendly and exudes saftey. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it

Outstanding place to stay. All of the staff was professional, polite and courteous to everyone at all times. I really like the security system in place for the hotel quests and employees. I felt very secure and safe during my stay. I will definitely tell all of my family and friends about my experience.

We were on the 20th floor and had a very good view to the city. The room is big enough, clean, friendly service. We never tried the breakfast in the hotel because on Polk and Washington St you can find one of the most delicious crepes ever.

“For the money (compared to other motels/hotels) you can't go wrong”

Clean and modern. You could not ask for a better location. Cable cars and buses all conviently walking distance close .Chinatown 6-7 minutes away by cable car.Hertz rent -a-car just across the street if you choose to rent a car for the day ,as we did, and drive over the Golden Gate bridge and visit the Muir woods (redwood trees),Sonoma and /or Napa valleys (wine /wine tasting country),crooked road etc...

“Very Good Hotel”

Hotel staff were very helpful. I only rated the room cleanliness at 4 because our A/C was broken and leaked water all over the carpet and our bags. I probably would have liked to be offered to move to another room. Although they didn't offer to move us they did fix the A/C right away(leaving only the wet carpet to deal with). Overall a very nice, clean and friendly Hotel.
