This hotel is unique. It was very easy to find and is at the centre of a very picturesque French village. We were asked to provide our COVID pass. There was a pleasant bar where the locals were very friendly but ignored the EU rules about indoor smoking. We had a pleasant reasonably priced meal in the restaurant. The shower was surprisingly good
Lovely friendly hotel, we stayed on the way to our holiday in the South of France and again on the way back to Calais. We had a beautiful evening meal of steak, very lean and cooked to perfection. Room was plenty big enough for our overnight stay and very clean. Situated in a great location. Only downside it smelled of cigarettes, but not enough to put us off. We would definitely stay there again.

We regularly revisit this fabulously eccentric and truly French hotel. It is welcoming with great steaks in the restaurant and Henri the dog is great fun!

Smelly and sad
We booked this hotel because the photographs looked good, the price was very reasonable and we were only staying for 1 night. We were disappointed with the hotel in general. We received a rather cool and disinterested welcome and were put in a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road and the square. The room was in need of redecoration, the bathroom door was a sliding door which made a dreadful noise and the hotel smelled of stale cigarettes and wet dog. We chose to use the lift even though we were only on the 2nd floor because the stairwell was so dark, dingy and smelly. Breakfast was fine. Travellers please note: there is a local festival which lasts for 3 nights around this time. It takes place opposite the hotel. The music (80s techno this year) goes on until 2am. We had to close the windows and the shutters, but it was still impossible to sleep until the music stopped. We won't be staying here again.
The original review I left for this hotel was rejected... I was scathing of the decor, the welcome, the comfort and the strange smell of bleach. I have stayed in worse rooms but this was in the 80's when I didn't know better! I have since grown up and I quite simply expect better. (Much better - I stay in Travelodge in the UK on a regular basis and they are luxurious by comparison).
Overnight stop on way south. Mistakenly booked wrong night and tried to correct immediately to no avail in spite of booking in for following night so beware! Great location and fine room but did not take to proprietor.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
St Flour gets better than this.
Short but reasonably comfortable stay in an old and slightly shabby hotel, but one not without charm. Staff polite, but slightly idiosyncratic. Room adequate but bizarrely decorated. Dinner ok. Breakfast disappointing.

Conveniently situated
The hotel was easy to find and was clean and comfortable if basic. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good - best croissants of the holiday.
The hotel was excellent. I was expecting it to be a bit old fashioned but it was great. We always travel on the little roads around Mount Cantel. It is a beautiful area and so unspoiled. There is much to see and enjoy. The food here is excellent.
Tres bon accueil.Hotel peut bruyant.Petit déjeuner et repas
excellent.Chambre spacieuse et propreté irréprochable.
Parking gratuit.Situation géographique.Rapport qualité/prix.
Séjour parfait.
