I cannot imagine experiencing worse customer service than what i've experienced with Suites Farnese in Italy.
I was ecstatic to visit Italy, but plans quickly changed due to COVID-19. My trip was scheduled for June 2020, and I began reaching out to the hotel in March for a refund. Although the hotel was initially very responsive when they asked about details for my stay (when I booked, they also got the date wrong, and continuously referred to me by my middle name), but when I reached out asking for a refund, I received no response. I reached out 4 or 5 times over a 2 month period, but I understood that they must be dealing with a lot.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks before my reservation. I still am not able to enter Italy, and I contact the hotel for a refund, again receiving no response. However, I can see that they are reading my messages and choosing not to respond. I finally receive an email a week before my scheduled reservation, which says I can receive a voucher for my stay, and when I go to do so, I get an error message that my stay is in less than 24 hours, therefore, I cannot receive the voucher. That would be fine if my stay wasn't actually a week away. I attempted to call the hotel multiple times on multiple days with no answer. I finally received a response directly from the hotel manager, saying that they'd given out too many refunds, and that their hotel will be open if I choose to stay there.
Avoid this hotel at all costs.
