I did not like the hotel at all. The hotel rooms are very, very small and the hotel design is very bad. The reception is in a building and the rooms are in another separate building, and moving with bags is very tiring from one building to another. You have to cross the street and carry the bags up a long flight of stairs. I will not repeat the experience at this hotel.

Clean but small rooms. Very clean. The lobby is separated from some of the hotel rooms. Difficulties with check-in and a very late check in. On the other side, this is probably the best location in Rome.

We stayed next door at the annex hotel which has a lot of stairs to get to lift which we were not told and a lot of stairs to get breakfast in another building which again were a lot of stairs that were not told to us. Stairs are uneven in both locations that were not easy for older couple

This property is not for guests with mobility issues. Too many stairs, lift not reliable if guests don’t close woden doors, bed are too hard, shower/bath to narrow & breakfast dining area very cramped and not a pleasant experience due to lack of space and no air conditioning. However the staff were super friendly and they helped with the baggage & great location for tourist attractions.

Room was very nice and spacious but unfortunately beds were very hard and there was a green blinking light on the ceiling above the bed which made it very difficult to sleep

Boutiqe hotel cemtrally located.
Rooms are small and clean. We were able to drop off our bags until our room was ready which was nice. Breakfast is not included but there is a cute cafe around the corner with great coffee! The hotel is located in a perfect spot to catch the metro or walk to many places.

Rooms are in a different building than the Reception area. We found several dead bugs on our bed and the washrooms were very dirty. We did not feel comfortable walking barefoot, or use the towels in the bathroom. Also the Air Conditioner never stayed on.

Loved the surrounding area as it was very convenient to all of the tourist attractions in Rome. Our rooms were in an old preserved building across the street which was a bit inconvenient in the mornings going for breakfast. Out bedrooms located on the first floor were beautifully renovated with views out on to the local area. Unfortunately we had no hot water at times in the shower. Breakfast food was really good but the eating area was very small. Overall great value for money and within walking distance of all of Rome's tourist attractions.

I want to preface this by saying I have never left a bad review of a property ever, especially while traveling abroad. But the customer service at this hotel was so bad it left me physically shaking/ upset. I booked the Rome Art Hotel, we arrived and were taken to another hotel "Trevi Group Hotel" with no explanation (in hindsight it seems they overbooked the Art Hotel and brought us to the back up) which was fine for 1 night. When we arrived the room smelled heavily of heavy duty cleaning supplies, had a run down interior, was dirty (hair in shower) and was not overall not very nice - but it was tolerable and we didn't want to complain because we just needed to crash before a flight out. The shower head did not work and we had to use the hand wand to shower, and the wifi kept cutting out. Tried to call the front desk 7 times with no answer that night and in the morning. In the morning when I was checking out I tried to talk to the front desk agent "Sarah" - probably the worst hotel customer service representative I have ever encountered. She yelled at me repeatedly, did not apologize for the pretty extreme issues or offer any kind of explanation, and did not listen or attempt to rectify any of my concerns. (I was very calm and did not lose my cool or yell) No way I can recommend this Hotel because of terrible service- if mgmt is reading this please discuss with the desk rep. on Aug 15 at 7:30am - she needs some serious service training

It is what it is.
Get what you pay for. Weird in many ways; rooms across the street, no phones in the room to call, no parking, weird reception. But it’s a good location, and not expensive. Room was clean, and bathrooms nice.

When the hotel is not what you booked
Despite getting confirmation 4 days prior when we arrived at the hotel they had no booking for us.They however did make great endeavours to find alternative accommodation and this was very good but in another part of Rome.In the fine print when we booked accommodation there was a note that that actual room was at another location!This was not on the initial booking reservation.We booked here because we wanted to stay here not somewhere else.However the staff were great in resolving the issue

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was very spacious and very clean. We found the location suited us perfectly as it was a lovely walk from the hotel to all the main sights. There is a supermarket just over the road also, which was handy. We would stay here again.

Bait and switch
Hotel did a bait and switch - told us there was mechanical issue for several days but never called us prior to arrival to see if we wanted to switch. Clearly they just overbooked and moved people. Claimed they were moving us to "superior 4 star" but carpets were filthy, mold in shower and we picked hotel to be by Trevi fountain and we were moved 20 minutes away.

Great location
The location of the Trevi Dependance hotel is different from where you go to check-in. This was a bit confusing; however, there was a sign on the door pointing us back to where we needed to go to check-in. Upon check-in, we were told that we had been upgraded from the Dependance to the hotel that was connected to where we check-in. Therefore, this review relates to the Trevi Collection Hotel. Overall, the location was great and the service was good. I didn't really like that the front desk controls the thermostat in the rooms making it necessary to call the desk to make any changes. We also got some push back when we asked to make the room cooler, but they did agree after some haggling (we asked for it to be put on 20 C; they eventually agreed to 21 C). Also, the bathroom was a bit dusty. We didn't have the breakfast so I can't speak to that. There was some painting and work being done to the property while we were there, but it was not an issue. The bed was not very comfortable in my opinion. The WI-FI was weak. Overall, great location, but as is typical in Europe, the rooms were small and a bit less comfortable than standard.

Everywhere in rome is walking distance. All the maps make it look much bigger than it is. Right near the trevi fountain and lovely restaurants.

Rude Reception
First, this is a bait and switch situation. The place that I booked was not the place they put me. As far as I was able to tell, there are three places. I arrived at the Dependance, to find a sign on the door, in the dark that the check-in was at another location. They didn’t give a street address, just the street name and a map, that I later realized wasn’t even properly oriented, so it was useless. After walking around a new city, in the dark, up and down hill with luggage, another hotel was able to direct me to the correct place. Now mind you, he wasn’t even sure, because I was so far away, but he thought that it was maybe there. When I arrived, I said to the receptionist that I should have received clear instructions via email prior to my arrival. She copped a huge attitude and said that there was a sign on the door. So, me walking through the streets at night with all my luggage and my purse, passport etc. was perfectly acceptable by her standards. As she prepared my key, another woman barged in and started talking. Instead of the receptionist telling her that she would help her momentarily, she started having a lengthy discussion. I looked at my fiancé and said that this was ridiculous. She got very irate and said that she was able to prepare my key while helping another. First of all, I wasn’t even speaking to her and second of all, there was a line and I was at the front of it. The whole world operates like this. I actually owe this site a call about.

Stay away if u have a choice.
The management is running a very disorganized operation. Poor quality staff. At our assigned building there was no reception or attendant. Bathoom had no shower curtains or even a toilet roll holder. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Informing the management that was located in another building meant nothing. I’d stay away from this place if I had a choice. I hope Expedia looks into this property & notes it appropriately on the site as well.

Great location
The hotel was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was a great area to stay in. It was a close walk to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. It was also very close to a metro stop. Only 2 complaints: You could hear a lot of noise coming from the streets outside which made it difficult to sleep and the staff wasn't very accommodating.

Great location and great stuff
I have stayed many times at Spanish Art hotel and I it is the first thing that comes to mind when it comes for a trip to Rome. The last time I stayed at the hotel was at the first quarter of March. , Breakfast is very good with a great variety to choose from, Beds are comfortable and good in size and seats and towels are changed every day as well as the cleaning of the room.

Theres nothing quite artsy or Spanish about this hotel. Its tiny and the rooms are small. For the price and location it is a steal. The staff was very nice. I only stayed 1 night and I was alone, had I been with my husband it would be cramped in the room I had. But for a lady traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable.

Great location & Modern style!
Central location, close to everything (shopping district, mall, monuments, bus tours, etc). The rooms are new, modern style, and bright with big windows. We were located in the second building which had a lot of stairs, which with a baby stroller was challenging going up and down, but really wasn't a big deal. The cleaning service, however, was disappointing. The floors were dirty and the covers are not clean. Also the walls were marked by bag scratches from previous tenants and they were not cleaned up. The internet connection was terrible, one hour it will work and the other it won't. Staff were friendly and helpful. Given the status of hotels in Rome and how expensive they are, this is not a bad option to go for.

I had done lots of research and only had a few days in Rome. This was perfect! We did take the bigger room. Nothing in Rome is that big but location was everything. Staff was great. It's a two block walk from the Spanish Steps but still not too crazy.

After a long journey from San Francisco we arrived at this hotel late at night to be told that they did not have a room for us. Even though we had prepaid for three nights through orbitz. They offered to put us in some unknown hotel across town. They did not inform us in any way about this change until we arrived at their front desk. Terrible customer service.

Location was perfect. Ten minutes walk to the Spanish Steps, or Fontana di Trevi , the Pantheon.carpet needs cleaning. Rooms are small but we managed. Staff at the reception desk were very nice and helpful

The Spanish Art Hotel offers large rooms that are clean and well taken care of. Teh neighborhood is close to multiple attractions, shopping, the Metro, and restaurants. However the staff was very indifferent, the wifi didn't work in our room, the response was yes sometimes it does doesn't,no effort to try and resolve the issue, the air conditioning master control is at the front desk, be advised that you may have to remind the front desk personnel to turn it on so the room will cool down, there is a entry light that comes on as you enter the room, our first night we couldn't turn it off, we pulled out the card that allows the lights to come on in the room and that worked except for the flashing blue light that highlights where the room card is to be inserted. After speaking with the front desk employee, we returned to find that issue was now solved. Again attitude is everything and sadly the front desk employees had seemingly a careless attitude.

The rooms are in an old building, with an old elevator that does not reach the ground level. At the day of check out, we had to move luggage by ourselves, carrying them down the stairs. The rooms are clean, recently remodeled. However, I don't think our room was finished: there was no shower curtain installed over the bath tub, and water was splashing everywhere while taking a shower. Also, the heavy window curtain was missing from one of the window panels. Also, it was very noisy.
