“Best location”
The Kolbe is a nice hotel, location is awesome with a great breakfast to start the day off (scrabble eggs, bacon, pastries, fruits, toast, breads, cereals, lunch meat, yogarts ect. Hot + cold breakfast foods to chose from) and excellant, helpful hotel staff. Location, location, location. Walking distance to serveral tourist sites and restuarants. Always felt safe walking back to hotel in the evening. Only suggestion is to offer inroom pay-preview movies in English for relaxing morning and evenings after several days of being on-the go. Rome is amazing, great price for location, small in size of course compared to US standards. Clean, wood floors, marble bathroom with towel warmer. Beds could be a little softer, but we still slept well! And it has a beautiful garden accessible from through the floor to ceiling doors in each room.
“Extremely impressed!”
I'm not one to leave reviews, regardless of my satisfaction, but Kolbe the best hotel I've stayed in. The comfort is certainly not what made it, but the concierges and help were super friendly, reliable and helpful for a couple of tourists looking for a more authentic Italian experience rather than a tourist-filled vacation. Our check-in was for 3pm but we arrived around 7am after 14 hours of travel and they were able to find a room to get us in within 15 minutes so we could shower and rest! Because of this we didn't get a nice view nor were the beds super comfortable, but we never missed sleep and you're in Rome who needs a view from the bedroom? Italy is about getting out! The shower was amazing with updates and jacuzzi jets with 2 shower heads. Free buffet breakfast every morning was spot-on. The location is great and a taxi to even the furthest points will be no more than ~8euros. 10 Stars!
“Amazing Hotel at an Amazing Location!”
We were at Rome for one night so we were ready to pay the extra for a good location. However this great hotel cost us very little for a triple room and it was beyond our expectation. Great furniture, very modern design and a great staff! Our car had a flat tyre when we arrived and the great receptionist called 5 tyre stores for us to find our spesific tyre model! Parking is a bit of a problem but with its great location and friendly people this Hotel is the right choice for Rome!
“Excellent!”
I need say no more. 5 out of 5.
“Lovely Breakfast, Beautiful Garden Courtyard”
My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The service was excellent, the breakfast spread was amazing, and we loved eating it outside in the quiet courtyard. It was a great contrast with the busy, crowded, loud, atmosphere of Rome. All the staff spoke English. Our room was very clean. The only downside was that our shower's glass wall only covered half the shower, so water easily splashed all over the floor. All in all, it was spectacular.
“Kolbe-1”
Hotel Kolbe is adjacent to the Forum/Palatine Hill and down the street from the Circus Maximus. It's neat and clean with friendly staff and except for a whine from the A/C was perfect. Restaurant was also excellent if a bit pricy and the included breakfast was the best we had of the 5 hotels we stayed at in Italy. We would definitely stay at the Kolbe again.
“Comfortable, Clean, Accomodating, Safe”
The hotel is not on a busy tourist street which allowed us to have a quiet sleep after full days of sight seeing. We were comfortable in the room. It was clean and the bathroom was very nice and clean. Not many hotels are this nice in Rome. I would stay here again. The poeple were nice and helpful and spoke English and were happy to help and set up taxi service for us. We had also booked a tour through Expedia and the Hotel was happy to call and set up our pick up for the morning tour which was very helpful. You are near many sights if you stay at this hotel. The air conditioning was very good thank goodness!
“Spectacular Hotel in Rome!”
Hotel Kolbe was superb with just marvelous service from its superior staff: Sara in the morning, Alessandro in the afternoon, Francesco and Nunzio in the evening. Each staff member adds their own incredible personal touch. Sara was so attentive, I dubbed her "Our Madre di Roma!" All Staff were superb especially in helping with dining reservations, tour hints and calling taxis for us. Taxis are the ONLY way to get around Rome. The are extremely reasonable, fast, convenient and reliable and Hotel Kolbe's staff must have called us at least 30 taxis. Hotel Kolbe is blissfully quiet and stunningly located right next to the Roman Forum and Campidologio, a great starting place for touring Rome. It's a restorative oasis which allows one to escape from demands of strenuous sightseeing. Breakfasts are included and are wonderful. I wish I were back at Hotel Kolbe right now, I could live there! Thank You All for such a Wonderful Time. You made us feel like we had a home away from home in Rome and we can't wait to go back. We felt we were in THE Best hotel in Rome.
“Great staff, location, comfort”
Though everything about the Kolbe was wonderful, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was extraordinary! They gave directions, made recommendations and reservations, ordered taxis, and got us box breakfasts when our city tour started before 7:00 a.m. Our room overlooked the ruins of the Roman forum, we were a couple of blocks from the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the Tiber River. We loved the garden restaurant at the hotel, and also the terrace restaurant around the corner. Though the street behind us (one-way, cobblestone) was fairly busy, our room was blessedly quiet, and we slept like babies. We walked just about everywhere--even to the Piazza del Popolo. The Kolbe was everything we had hoped for--and much, much more!
“Superb stay - definitely recommend”
The location is fantastic as you can walk to the Forum, Palatine, Coliseum, across the river and to other points of interest. Very safe to walk back at night, also. Although it was very hot outside (July), the room was perfectly air-conditioned and it was blissful to come back to after the long sight-seeing trips. The hotel room was clean with a simple and stylish decor, perfect for our family of four. We each had our own reading lights. We could see the Palatine from our window. The staff was very helpful, provided very helpful directions and suggestions in addition to infallible recommendations for good restaurants. The breakfast is delicious and included in the price. Only suggestion would be that the wi-fi connection should cost less. A whole-hearted thumbs up!
