Value for money
The hotel is pretty tired but it's got Wi-fi, Air con and friendly staff which is all you need. It's literally a stones' throw from Termini station so the location is unbeatable for the amount it costs. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, so if you're visiting Rome on a budget I would 100% recommend.

Perfectly clean and comfortable
Perfectly clean and comfortable. The bathroom was probably the smallest bathroom we have ever seen - but it was functional and private and that is adequate for our needs. The Hotel is literaly less than 100 Yards from the Roma Termini Train Station and correspondingly centrally located to everything in Rome.

Very good location - 2 minutes from Termini station. Plenty of restaurants around. Room clean and beds comfortable. It is a basic hotel (2*), but if you look for a decent priced place close to Termini and can accept that it is 'not posh' then it is good option. Would consider going back if returning to Rome. No breakfast in hotel, but you have a super nice cafe only 50 meters away and you get a 'Croissant + Cappuccino' there for €2.40 (and it is very tasty - as good as a typical Italian breakfast can get).

Good value, very clean
The good: 1. Very clean. Contrary to some other reviews I read, our room was cleaned every day during our stay (we were there 4 nights). 2. The location is very close to Roma Termini, just a few minutes walk away. There is a nearby cafe you can get breakfast, and plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There are also a couple grocery stores in the Termini itself. 3. The price/value. Including the city tax, we paid $92/night. Not too bad IMO. 4. It was super quiet. We had a room facing the courtyard and not the street, so maybe that's why. While our room was right by the entrance, we didn't find the noise to be noticeable. The not-so-good: 1. Check-in. The lady who checked us in had some trouble locating our reservation. 2. Wi-fi. It was pretty slow in our room, maybe because we were by the entrance. Overall, a pretty good stay. Certainly wouldn't mind staying here again if I were in Rome. Definitely recommend

Great place to stay in Roma
Place next to Roma Termini and many great restaurant surrounding it. The guys at the counter were great they provided the best advice they could on where to go and how to go. Rooms were great but usually noisy as it is directly above a restaurant. only complain the toilet for my 1st night was horrible (a double room) and the lift anyone who need to wear clothes with double XL will find it challenging. but the stairs are fine.

My only complain was the air conditioner did not work at all, and it was very hot even in April. Please fix the AC. Other than that, everything was great. Staff were friendly, room was clean and breakfast was decent. The location was good. Take water bus line No.2 from the dock D in front of Venezia Santa Lucia Station, and get off at Academia, then walk 3 min. Be aware you need to check in at the different hotel across the street.

For sure
Front desk is very helpfully staffed. Our 1st two nights were in a room near the front desk with a very tiny bathroom but once another room became available on the 4th floor, we were able to change rooms, this was better for noise and bathroom was much larger. Location is great being close to the train station and within easy walking distance to must of the sights in downtown Rome. Restaurants close by, we ate breakfast across from the train station most mornings.

Nice hotel close to Central Train Station in Rome.
When you are looking for the hotel, look for a small flag displaying the name of the hotel. Then below it, there is a place to buzz to get in the building. It is on the second floor. The staff was friendly and our room was very clean and quiet. Enough room to place our gear (backpacks). The bathroom is a bit small, but most of them are, but it was also clean. If you are a heavy person or overly tall (taller than 6' 2"), then it will be a tight fit, otherwise you should be fine. We took the 3 Euro breakfast that was a small cafe around the corner which provided good coffee and tea, a juice and a fresh pastry. Fine for us. Great location if you are taking the train. It took us 5 minutes to get to the Central Station (Termini) but if you walk slow it might take you 10 minutes. Overall a fine stay for us (1 night). Yes I would recommend it to our friends.

Good stay near Roma Termini
I would recommend this hotel and/or stay here again. It's not a luxury hotel, but it more than met what I was expecting (clean, good water and a/c, good service) and I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is near the transportation terminal on the second floor (American counting, 1st story European), which is convenient. The neighborhood is not the best, but that will be true for any hotel around the station. To get in, you buzzed the desk (24 hour) and they let you in without any questions. The desk person sees you immediately on the second floor. Hotel amenities: Great A/C! It took me a bit to get a hang of the remote, but this was one of the best A/Cs at the Italian hotels I stayed at (stayed in 5 total). The room seemed clean to me. There is a phone, TV with about 40 stations, desk, small window, and some cabinets. No clocks. The bathroom and especially the shower were small. There was an adequate amount of soap, toilet tissue, and towels in the bathroom, and I didn't have any problems with hot/cold water or the water pressure, which was an issue at some other hotels I had stayed in. Hotel service: I was given a room with a double bed for the same price as the single bed I had booked just because it was available and the clerk thought it would be more comfortable for me. The clerk also kindly agreed to do a wake-up call for me and didn't seem annoyed at me asking/reminding him three times about it.

Great Value
Hotel Fenicia isn't a four star hotel because it lacks some amenities such as a public computer and buffet breakfast, but it has everything one needs for a comfortable stay -- a decent sized room, comfortable beds, a refrigerator, a safe, free internet, free air conditioning, and 24 hour front desk service. Housekeeping is great. Rooms are cleaned promptly. The bedding is changed daily which is more frequent than many hotels in the USA. The linens are fresh and the bath towels are large. The front desk personnel carry luggage to the room and explain how the keys operate. The gentleman who works in the evening is particularly friendly and helpful. He arranged for an early morning taxi driver and made sure he arrived at the hotel promptly. The neighborhood does have some individuals who hang around the streets, but I was never approached or felt unsafe. Travelers need to be more concerned about pick pockets on the subway or at tourist attractions than about encounters while walking the streets near the hotel. There are a number of great restaurants near the hotels (the Florian in particular is fantastic)as well as a grocery store. The hotel is very close to the train and metro stations, but located on a side street so there isn't a lot of traffic. My room was located very close to a restaurant, but the noise was minimal because I kept the windows closed and ran the air conditioner whenever it became noisy. Overall, the hotel is a great value.

Cheap hotel near Termini station
The hotel itself is good. Room was small but clean. Noise insulation is bad though. You can hear people walking and talking in the hallway anytime someone is buzzed in. The location is right behind the central train station. The area is a bit sketchy at night, watch out for pickpockets around the station.

Convenient but not the best/ safest location
The location is extremely close to Termini (Central Station). The staff is very nice. Other than that, there's nothing else positive I can say about the hotel. The location is sketchy & full of homeless people. The hotel is location on the 2nd floor of an old building - on a quiet dirty street. You need to buzz the bell in order for them to let you in. The rooms are superficially clean & not comfortable. You can still see a bit of dirt & hair on the floor. The walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbor's conversations clearly. At night, you can hear the garbage trucks outside very well even with the window shut closed. Also? the room has only one outlet to charge the my phone. The bed is ok but not all that comfortable. The blanket felt dirty so I just used the white sheet instead. Overall, I wished I paid an extra $10-$20 euros for a better hotel. You amount you save it's not worth a good night sleep.

short block and a half from Rome Termini Train sta
the hotel was fine. Nothing too fancy and a bit small, but clean and comfortable ... even a tiny balcony! Very little hot water pressure in the shower was my only real complaint. Staff was very polite and helpful. The location could not be much more convenient. Less than 5 minute walk from Termini Train station in Rome ... trains and Metro meet there. We would definitely stay there again. One of the few real bargains we found on our European trip.

Last night in Rome
We stayed here for one night before our flight out of Rome in the morning. It is close to the train station and easy to find. The neighborhood is perfectly fine, but anytime you are near the station, it is less desirable. That being said, it was safe and the door to get in is monitored and easy to use. The guy at the front desk is nice and courteous. He even let us pick which room we wanted which was a big plus. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom and shower were clean and nice. Only big complaint would be the hardness of the bed. It was like sleeping on a concrete floor. But for 80 Euro, what would you expect. I was not really able to get to sleep on that bed, but it served the purpose. Easy to leave in the morning. I wouldn't want to stay here for too many nights, but for what we needed, it was clean, it was cheap and it was safe.

Great for one night
Hotel was located in the same building as two other hotels, each floor was a different hotel. The check in for the Fencia was on the second floor, and the rooms on the fourth. Overall just a room, nothing special, okay for one night if catching a train the next morning, or getting in late. Big negative, the AC was very poor, and did not cool the room adequately.

Great location
Hotel was slightly difficult to find as there were no clear signs on the main door. Make sure you go to the 1st floor where the reception is, who was very helpful by the way. Close to many eateries and right next to the Termini station which makes it super convenient. Room was small. This hotel is more like many different apartments converted to individual hotel rooms. The private shower did not work very well, bursts of cold and hot water. Stayed for just a night as had to catch an early train to the airport. Overall a good stay.

Close to Termini
This hotel met our expectations for our one-night stay before heading on a Mediterranean cruise out of Rome. It is a basic hotel, but we found it to be clean and roomy enough. The location was excellent - about 2 blocks away from Termini station. It was maybe about a 10 minute walk from the station carrying all our luggage. The elevator at the hotel was TINY so we chose to walk our bags up to the second floor instead. The staff at the front desk were friendly and didn't mind storing our luggage for us while we toured around Rome the next day. The hotel seemed very secure, as the main doors were locked at all times and you had to buzz the front desk in order to enter. We were happy with our choice to stay at this hotel: clean, affordable, and conveniently located.

Small but Nice and Convenient!
We stayed at this hotel on our way back to the US from Sicily. Close to Termini so very convenient. We were a bit skeptical at first however we found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our room was small however it was very clean and for a short stay it was just perfect. Wifi worked wonderfully and there was even a mini-fridge in the room. Our room was on the street side so it was a bit noisy at night however for the price and location, it can't be beat! Would definitely stay at Hotel Fenecia again. My daughter and her husband stayed for 4 nights and their room was a bit larger and not on the noisy street so there are options! Restaurants and coffee house just down the street were very nice as well.

Good location but small room and noisy
Hotel is right by the termini station but rooms are super small (a queen bed and two check-in luggages basically takes up the entire room leaving a small trail to get from door to bathroom) and bathroom is even smaller (a stand-up shower, toilet, and sink. No bidet and no vanity). I am sure this is throughout the hotel but since Fenicia shares building with two (possibly more?) other hotels it is extremely noisy throughout the day and walls are paper thin. It will be near impossible to sleep in past 8:30am due to the constant footsteps, banging, vacuuming, doors slamming, etc. Also you must turn in your key to the reception when you go out - very inconvenient.

Great hotel, mediocre location...
The hotel itself was more than worth its rate... It's located near the Termini train station, so it's great for people who use public transportation, though less so for those who like walking everywhere. The room was clean, comfortable (more than enough room for two suitcases), a nice shower, and not too loud (especially after you close the window). It also has a safe (ours was actually not working since it had no battery) and a (slightly leaking) refrigerator, but I'm sure both would have been fixed if we needed them and asked.

Nice hotel close to major public transport
This hotel was a perfect hopping pad. Very close to major transportation including Termini Station and major Metro stops. It is on a one-way street and you do not get too much street noise. Although there is wifi, there is also a public laptop. I do not recommend using it. It is too slow (I was able to load a website on my phone faster that the laptop using the same wifi). It might have a virus, I would not trust it with USB sticks or putting any of my personal information in (user names and passwords for banking, email, etc). I just used it to check flight information. Breakfast is a croissant and a coffee (need to pay extra). I would recommend this place to friends and stay here again.
