“Helpful and professional”
We booked the hotel in order to catch a very early flight next day morning. Vicente, the young man who worked at the front desk, was very helpful. He went to extra miles to help us get ready for the trip. We truly appreciate his assistance. The hotel itself was comfortable, just a short walk to a quiet beach.
“Not easy to find (via GPS) but worth the effort”
Hotel was just fine, near the Rome airport. BUT our GPS system kept trying to turn us down 1-way streets THE WRONG WAY! So we spent a half hour of frustration trying to find the hotel. We asked the hotel about this and they told us that the 1-way streets had been changed. Sooo, we advise anyone to get either directions from (nearby) to the hotel or ge an up to date map of the area. The hotel seems to be in a more residential area near the hotel - and it is quiet and the staff is personable, All good features once you find it! We recommend it - and an up-to-date map to find it.
“Surprised!”
At first glance when I arrived at the hotel was get me out of here! The lobby area was what turned me off at first, it looked very shabby! But I was plesantly surprised when I viewed the room while it is not a four star hotel, it was a good place to stay while waiting for our flight to the USA. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My recommendation would be that to re-do the lobby area!!!!!! It is a turnoff when first entering the hotel. Thank you.
“Nice and close to airport”
The hotel is very close to the water=Mediterranean. Fiumincio is a resort town that has seen better days. The main reason to stay at the hotel is because it is close to the airport,. My room was fine, with a comfortable bed, very clean bathroom and a TV. The hotel offers a shuttle for 6 euros one-way. Walking along the water is pleasant and there are a few restaurants, convenience-type store and a gelateria.
“Awful place in Italy”
Dump in an awful neighborhood
“Need real Nutella”
Reasonable Best Western. Thought it was closer to airport, but 10-15 minute commute wasn't bad. Is only a block from the Med, but local beach is only average. Room clean and comfortable and good value for the money. Nice free breakfast buffet but need real Nutella instead of a knock-off. Shuttle to airport, but might as well take a taxi since shuttel isn't free.
“Rome, Italy & the Beach too.”
About 5Km to the airport and 100meters to the beach. Great reception by Vincenzo at the front desk. Quiet neighborhood close to restaurants and the beach. No car needed. Shuttle gets you to your flight for only 6 euros per person, on time. All necessary amenities included. Good hot showers, room fridge, firm mattress, TV, A/C, big towels.
“Good airport hotel”
We flew in from Sicily around 2pm and needed a place to stay overnight for an early morning flight to the States. We chose the Best Western--- a 15 minute cab ride and located one short block from the beach. The hotel was fine. It was great having free internet, and even though the shower was small, it was larger than the one in Sicily! The best part though, was the beach. Luckily, it was a beautiful day, so we walked to the beach and sat at the quaint little beach bar, sipping cheap wine, listening to Reggae music and enjoying our last day in Italy. The area is not upper-class, but one where locals hang out. We asked the front desk for a restaurant recommendation and decided on GastOne, which was the closest one to the hotel. I ordered their sea bass with eggplant and pesto, which came surrounded with freshly fried thin potato chips. I have to say that this dish was the best fish I had in our 10 days in Rome and Sicily! We had been trying tiramisu wherever we could and were so disappointed that it wasn't on the dessert list. However, when we asked the waiter about dessert, he said not to follow the menu, as the desserts change daily. And guess what! They had tiramisu! I felt it was the best one of the trip. It was a fantastic meal and a great way to end our trip. If you're OK with a local, 2 or 3 star area, this is a nice spot. You'll need to overlook the trash on the streets, but the beach appeared clean. If you want something closer to the airport, try the Hilton.
“Precious facility-hard mattress”
Walking in there was a calm cool breeze, pleasant reception area and most staff could speak English. Everyone did a great job making you feel welcome. No wifi, but don't spend time on the computer enjoy the sights. Wish I had longer to stay.
“Until the seaside area is cleaned up, don't go here.”
We booked this hotel to be near the airport, but since we were spending two nights, we wanted something that had other activities nearby. This hotel advertised local shopping and proximity to the beach. Plus, it was a Best Western. Unfortunately, we knew we had made a bad choice when we checked into our room, after traveling all day, only to hear neighborhood dogs barking. We closed the window to shut out the noise and called the front desk about the air-conditioning only to find it had not been turned on for the season, yet; but, they did offer to let us move to another room. We could still hear the dogs, but at least the room was bigger. The description of the hotel says it was renovated recently. But, whatever was done, wasn't enough. The reception area is small and messy. We thought we would shop the next day only to find there was a sizable fee for transport. As for the beach, it is only a block away and there is a beautiful walk way along it. Too bad the beach is full of trash, bums, and abandoned boats. There were several good things about the hotel - the staff did try to make us happy and there is a great little family-owned restaurant around the corner. Other than that, there aren't any positives about the hotel. The area is scary. There is nothing close by, except the the neglected beach, and the hotel is tacky. This was supposed to be a 3-star hotel, so we weren't expecting a palace, but this was definitely disappointing and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
