Sadly cleanliness was not a priority
At first arrival we were happy with how everything looked. We didn’t have overly high expectations for the price. Unfortunately the cleanliness let it down. We have stayed in many budget motels traveling around the country and even though they were a cheaper price they were generally pretty clean. One of the beds had obviously not been checked or changed as there was clothing tags that had been left under the sheets. The plates looked like they had been scraped off and put back without washing and one of the wash clothes had definitively been used and not changed :( Maybe we just happened to stay on a bad day? We were only there for a quick stop between long drives but sadly we will not be using this motel again. The skipped hygiene was a put off.

Thankyou for the feedback and comments - we view this information as important and appreciate the time taken to provide it. We have been able to identify the specific area of the facility being referred to and further we have been able to deduce that this area was cleaned by a very new cleaning staff member who is uncomfortable after being advised of the feedback. As a result we are now providing extra coaching to this staff member and will be more closely monitoring their cleaning effort.We apologize for this one slipping through , as we are strict on hygiene and cleanliness control . Never the less if it does happen, we need to know these things so that we can address the matters promptly.The staff member has not been let go as we have elected to coach and retrain - however should it happen again there will be more definitive action taken as we wear the ultimate responsibility for presentation..

Helpful and friendly staff, laundry on site, undercover parking at your door. Well equipped self contained unit with lots of bench space, good to have full size fridge Which we could stay longer

Quiet position. Easy check in. Bathroom was extremely clean. Lots of space, dining table and chairs. Large fridge freezer. The sofa and Chair needed upholstering. The bed and pillows were lumpy and old.

After a very long drive up the Queensland coast, this lovely little motel was a comfortable place to sleep for one night. It was simple, but very cosy accommodation, with retro charm. The gentleman in the reception was very friendly and helpful. I recommend the Golden Fountain Motel to anyone who is looking for a clean, cosy and safe place to stay while on the road.

We are sad that you feel this way, however your comments we feel are very much unwarranted and grossly incorrect. The room you used has been used twice since your departure with guests quite happy with the room. It has been used numerous times prior to your stay with out incident or complaint. Further we interviewed guests who were in adjacent rooms the night you stayed with us and they both indicated they had slept well and had not experienced noise issues. They were mature age guests. In the past 12 months to 30 April 2022 we have had 6821 room nights sold in our facility of which 92% are repeat guests even with Covid 19 causing difficulties. We are often complimented on our facility presentation and cleanliness and to make the claims that you are making is simply incorrect. We are not a new facility however we look after it. When you first entered reception I was serving another lady with her 4 year old daughter . which I briefly halted to serve you. You were quite loud and seemed agitated and made negative comments about other places where you have stayed causing you issues with being noisy with noisy guests. We positively assured you that we are not tolerant of noisy guests at which point you quite assertively advised me that if there were any noisy guests you would be doing something about it and quickly left reception. Again we are sad that you feel this way and wish to advise you that we will continue to work hard to make our guest stays as comfortable as possible.

Clean and basic
The rooms in the motel are larger than most other motels, and therefore are quiet. The manager was helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom were clean, but very dated. The bed was comfy , so overall it s value was good.

Older motel but clean, comfortable and good value. Overnight stay on a trip, on main road with plenty of facilities conveniently located, quiet and spacious room, under cover parking. If I’m picky, could have more power points.

love staying at this motel when in Rockhampton, nice large spacious and comfortable rooms and kitchen facilites which meet all your needs. Staff are friendly too and have lots of local knowledge.
