It's a cheap option and showed. Bedding and towels were clean, bed was comfortable. Lift erratic and dirty, floor in room dirty, breakfast is ok if you like watered down yogurt and juice. AC barely worked. Next to a Metro station, easy walk to beach.

I've stayed at way better hostels than this hotel! In the room I stayed one night (I could only do one), the floor was dirty, sheets were covered in sand, wifi didnt work. And when i told these issues to the front desk manager, he didnt care one bit and told me that I have to pay a fee to store my luggage, instead if offering the service complimentary, as a way to trying to make up for me... 0 costomer service skills.

Firstly we changed the dates of our booking but when we got to the hotel they said that we still had to pay for 5 nights, even though we stayed for 4 nights. At the desk he told us he was giving a special offer of 200 usd approx for one night, low and behold it was 85 on Expedia so I felt like they were trying to get more money from us than necessary. The place was quite dirty, stains on the bath, poor air on and the room wasn’t exactly cleaned daily. The beds were mad, that was about the extent of it. Had to keep asking for more soap. Faculties are poor, pool isn’t appealing, looks better in the picture. The “gym” is a sweaty tiny room with one bike and one treadmill. The cherry on top, was that the day we checked out they are us pay to store our luggage

Stay away from this hotel. It is a very bad experience in Río de Janeiro. Point by point. 1- Very bad breakfast. 2- Elevators suck. You can wait up to 15 minutes to take the elevator. 3- Facilities are old. They should rebuild the whole hotel again. 4- A/C has a terrible noise that won’t let you sleep well. 5- They charge you for water. 6- Staff is ok 7- The area is dangerous. 8- Cost against benefit is high. Consider other options before booking this hotel.

PRO: Convenient to metro. CON: Room key seldom worked. Noisy A/C. One of two elevators didn’t work at all. One English TV channel only part of the time. Over the years, this hotel has been going downhill. Won’t be staying there again and I go to Rio twice a year.

Overall staff very helpful but I was extremely disappointed whe at the end of our stay, after paying hundreds of dollars for our stay, we were required to pay over $6 dollars to leave our bags for a few hours before our flight. The staff said EVerybody complains about this. CHANGE YOUR POLICY🙏

Stay Away from Hotel Atlantico Copacabana
The hotel badly needs repairs and maintenance. The elevator scares you and takes you to the wrong floor. The room smells weird and the furniture is old. The beds are uncomfortable and have minimum linen. The pillows give nechache. The AC is noisy and not very effective. Don't touch the fridge-- the tiny water bottles cost R$6 each, which cost R$2 just outside. You didn't ask for the water, for which you will have to pay. The safe needs a weird lock which is available at the front desk for R$6/night. The hotel seems to be trying to pinch every penny out of you. The staff is not friendly and very efficient (maybe due to language barrier). The hotel seems to be following the modus operandi of some of those roadside motels in the United States.

When I got there it was only one person to check everybody in and he was rude not very helpful had to charge my credit card twice. When we got to the room there was a roach in my bathroom we took a shower and the bathroom was flooded. It's old and outdated. The towels smelled funky. I will never stay there again on my next trip to Rio.

Uon arrival the room is filthy- canceled my stay
I did not stay at the hotel. Hotel looks really old on the inside. The first bedroom they gave me had dirty mirrors and sand on the furniture. Once I called them, they transferred me to another bedroom, AC was poorly installed, weak and dirty. Then they showed me a third bedroom, which wasn't much different than the other 2, dirty walls. Way below my standards, so I just requested to cancel my reservation. I ended up at the Astoria a couple blocks away. Pay a little more to stay somewhere else because is well worth it, this hotel is in desperate need of an update. I was just going to sleep as I would spend all day in my grandma's home, but this place doesn't make the cut even for sleep only,

Older hotel, but it was ok for a few nights. Close to restaurants and the beach. Breakfast was ok. Typical Brazilian breakfast. If you’re looking for a reasonable price and a basic hotel, this is fine.

Cheap and outdated, well located, no comfort.
Well located 5 minutes walk from the beach hotel. Quite dodgy, has seen better days. The deluxe room has nothing luxurious to them, apart from being larger than the others. Outdated bedding, bath, barely funcional. Kudos to the photographer, who managed to make it look a million dollars. Just bear in mind the price of the room you actually paid, and it puts everything into perspective!

Overall good.
Considering the very good price everything was fine and we would stay there again. The only problem was with the elevators for the last two days (we were on the 12th floor) which very unreliable and we had to use the service lift several times which stopped on every floor whether called or not, which was very frustrating. Hopefully this was a short term problem.

The staff is usually friendly. Sylvester is the nicest and he speaks English as well. Always helpful. The breakfast food needs to be upgraded and include bacon. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

It is a cheap hotel, so you get what you pay for. There was no wifi periodically, and once over the weekend it was gone for over a day. Breakfast buffet is mediocre. But, location is not bad and the price is good for Copacabana.

My husband and I visited during Carnival and the experience was poor. The other reviews are correct, the hotel is very outdated. Service was subpar at the front desk. Dozens of guests arrived around 10am from the airport and the hotel would not allow anyone to check in early. So the lobby was very crowded. The front desk men were the SLOWEST moving people I have ever witnessed. When it was finally time to check in, there were only 2 people available for the dozens of guests during the busiest time of year. The room was spacious but not nice. There was no fitted bed sheets, so the sheet we slept on kept undoing and we would wake up on the bare mattress - gross! We don't know where that mattress has been! The sheets and blanket were stained. The bathroom was small and likely cleaned, but was so dark and old, you couldn't really tell. The elevators took forever and were small. I can't speak to the breakfast and we only ate it one day, and there was barely any food left due to the Carnival crowd. The only saving grace for this hotel was the location. Very close to many restaurants, bars, and the beach.

This hotel is a good choice if you are looking for a value in a good location both close to the beaches as well as to the local subway. The staff is friendly and helpful. However the hotel does need to be renovated and many of its rooms have some issues due to age. My mattress was also older then I would expect but I was still able to sleep well. This is definitely a budget hotel.

The location of this hotel is great. Walk to the beach. Metro right across the street. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine. The hotel needs updating. Furnishings are old and technology is very dated. However, the hotel is a good value for price and location.

It is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but maybe 30 years ago! You can't sleep with the AC on because it sounds a lot, tvs are 30 years old
