"the best of the best"
We ended our journey around the South Island of New Zealand with a four night stay at Azur. I admit that while I am very picky about accommodations and always seek out comfortable, clean, elegant and typically more expensive lodgings, I worried for months-- in the period between when I booked Azur and our actual journey-- that this was too much to pay. My fears were relieved. Azur was an impeccable experience. Staff was incredible, attentive to our every wish. At the same time, we had all the privacy we could want. The villas were like home, only better. We opted for in-room dining every night; tell the staff what you want from which restaurant and they go get it for you and set up the dining table (we even opted for the famous Fergburger without having to wait in the equally famous line). Talk about spoiled! This was the perfect place to have a luxurious and romantic get-away.

"Wonderful hospitality"
Ailey and her staff were wonderful!! Ailey made you feel like you were at home and by the time we left we felt like we had gained a new friend. The room was spacious and very clean. I would stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to others. Ailey suggested restaurants for dinner and she was spot on with her recommendations! The continental breakfast was good with freshly made juice and muffins as well as cereal and fruit. One day Ailey fixed us French toast which was delicious!

"A Unique and Pleasurable Experience"
My max ratings speak for themselves. What doesn't is a unique experience upon arrival and during our stay. We were late arriving from a long drive to Queenstown, and we had to make and early morning appointment the following day for a tour to Milford Sound (a must see, by the way). That meant we'd miss breakfast the following morning. However, when we got to our room, proprietors Donald and Jillian had prepared our breakfast on a large tray with bread, yogurt, two cereals, cookies, yogurt and milk. Two days later we had to depart for the Doubtful Sound tour (Donald's favorite, and he's right). Returning from dinner the night before the tour, the full tray was there again. This is more like a home that a hotel. When we departed, both dropped whatever they were doing and rushed to the foyer to bid us adieu. Thanks Browns for a memorable experience!
