Very helpful and kind hotel staffPosted 21/02/2013 on Hotels.com
Located very centrally while being out and away from the tourist rraps and over-pricing. Some very cool pubs in the area and GREAT food places. Kind of off the beaten track in terms of tourist paths but still central so very nice. The hotel manager was exceptionally kind and helpful for us during our stay which made a big difference too.

Gem of a hotel in PraguePosted 23/11/2012
Pros: Very spacious room! Very clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Excellent value for money! Very freindly manager. Im glad I found this hotel.
Location: Great location only 3 tram stops from the centre of Prague. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel.
Excellent hotel in a good location. Only 3 tram stops from the centre of Prague. Clean, very friendly and decent breakfast. Highly recommended!

It is a nice Hotel, in a good location and easy to reach. Rooms are clean and big. It would be good to have a hair drayer in the room. Service is friendly.

a hotel that refuses to help guestsPosted 29/03/2011
I was incredibly disappointed by how little the hotel staff knew about traveling from the hotel to downtown Prague. In addition to not knowing very much, they actually refused to look up any details on the tram lines to downtown! I don't think I've ever come across a hotel staff member that actively refused to help for no discernible reason! In addition to that, the rooms weren't cleaned, and the hotel falsely claimed that credit cards were accepted on Expedia but demanded cash at checkout. Although this hotel is inexpensive, it is NOT worth the rude service, false advertising, and lack of housekeeping services.

Good hotel that met all our needsPosted 13/10/2010
Our two-night stay in the Hotel Columbo was good overall. The check-in was easy, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, the room was large and clean, and the hotel wasn't far from the city centre. It was a 15-minute walk up a main street out of the main train station, and we found out afterwards that there are regular trams going by the hotel direct to the city centre that we could have taken. The breakfast was good and offered a good selection of food. Only downsides are the fact that there is no elevator, the wifi only worked in the reception area (but it was free), and there was a slight musty odour to the room. I'd recommend this again for someone who can't afford to stay in the city centre.
