"My first non-smoking room smelled very strongly of smoke. (Why do people smoke in non-smoking rooms??) The woman at the front desk was so kind and helpful throughout my stay and moved me to a different room. Second room was okay, a little run down but it was clean enough and the AC worked. There is a waffle maker at breakfast, which is fun, but the rest of the spread is very basic--however, free coffee, so I won't complain! The pool looked nice. The fitness room had a recumbent bike, a treadmill, and an elliptical. The AC was unfortunately broken so the room was HOT but they did set up a fan for me."

"Over all was good. But noise being on a busy road. And a little dated. Safety bar in bathroom wiggles. And the toilet too 10 gallons of water to flush. Would not want to pay that bill."

"Generally okay/good. Primarily, the beds were too soft. Felt like you were falling into very soft feathers. Difficult to move around because of lack of firmness. Room/floor numbering was a little strange. Rooms on lobby level are 200 series. If you get into the elevator, the elevator says you are on floor number 1. Lobby level main hallway is very wide and long. Reminds me of the movie "The Shining." Except for too soft beds the rest are just quirks."

"This is clearly an older building and the carpets looked worn and shabby and hallway could use some paint. But it was very clean, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room had all the basics we needed. Breakfast was more limited than most. They served hardboiled eggs that were stone cold and rubbery and a meager assortment of pastry and cereal. Air conditioner was very noisy as was the noise from the motorcycle gang that invaded the hotel next to ours. The staff, on the other hand, were so helpful and gracious. They answered questions, helped solve a problem that arose with my travel party, and I am very grateful."

"Staying at Bear Mountain Inn was amazing. Hessian Lake is beautiful. The park and trails are clean and hiking here is very good. We loved the Bear Mountain Zoo and all the exhibits. Staff here are very good. I highly recommend staying here. The rooms, decor, staff and ambiance are top notch. We will be back very soon!!"
