We had a room on the 9th floor and this is the highest and the best
The higher the better to get the best views of the Opera House and the Harbour bridge
Our room had a kettle, toaster, 2 ring cooker, a microwave and a fidge with an ice box so that you could cook simple meals in your room
We had a fold up bed as our 4th bed so it was a little cosy but we managed
You could open the winows quite a lot which was a bit crazy for the 9th floor and there was air conditioning if needed
I was very please with everything at the Bayswater Sydney. Located a short walk from Kings Cross subway station, really awesome restaurants and night clubs. The mattress was a little firmer than I'm used to but fine. There were a few maintenance items that I had to notify the staff about: lamp bulb burned out. Closet door hinge needing repair. Shower door hinge falling off. The staff went way overboard to help us book some excursions and reschedule tickets that I had already bought for the Opera House. In the evening and early morning you can hear the subway trains as they pass under the motel. It's a faint rumble like thunder off in the distance. I'm pretty sure that the trains stop at 11pm and don't start up until like 5am so it wasn't a significant issue for me... just a slight bother in the mornings.

The Albert & Victoria is lovely place to stay. The rooms are comfy and the guys who run the hotel are very welcoming. Convient for all the restaurants and bars in Potts Point and a short walk into town.
"Great location, Spartan accommodation, good value."
The Hotel's location is amazing, you are a short stroll from the debauchery of Kings Cross and the usual tourist attractions (opera house, botanical gardens, etc). The rooms are functional, nothing special but just what you need. Some rooms are a bit noisy due to businesses in the buildings next door so bring earplugs and you'll be fine. Overall, the hotel is a great value and the staff is accommodating.
We arrived late and on foot. I had rung earlier to say we were going to be late and the night watchman, Murray, was expecting us. All was ready and he gave us our key and directions (down the passage, turn left, then right) and said he'd left the light on in our room so we could find it. The hotel was in the middle of renovations so a little disorganised-looking and it is an old building so things were a little shabby but the room was immaculately clean and had everything we needed, all fitted into a teeny, tiny space. The fittings were old and slightly quirky but everything worked. After a chaotic journey with cancelled flights and mis-directions, it was heaven to have a hot, hot shower and collapse between smooth, clean sheets. I would stay there again. Thanks.

Wicked hostel. Staff is lovely, they are always down to help you out with your travels or if you need a hand planning a day trip. Hostel is unique with art and is in a very central place if you want to view the harbour/botanical or head into the city. Slow thunderous applause for these guys.
