Very comfortable, friendly staff and very helpful as I had to make my way to the airport in the very early morning.

Convenient hotel

Pros: convenience to freeway, clean & quiet hotel atmosphere, good value for stay
Cons: better door access from 2nd & 3rd parking lots; another set of stairs or elevator at other end of building for guests at the back of the building
Location: JetBoat;Zoo;Washington Park;Columbia Gorge;Glassometry;Fruit Loop;waterfalls;VooDoo Donuts;Powells Books;Glowing Greens MiniGolf;Saturday Mkt;movies;
My daughter and I stayed here on our recent trip. Hotel was very close to freeway access, a couple decent restaurants and a Mall. Breakfast was pretty substantial to start the day. Hot tub area very clean and hotel considerably quiet (we stayed on the third floor). Lobby was inviting, used computer to print boarding passes, no issues at all. Our room was clean, tried to hang up our towels to re-use, but housekeeping always gave us new, clean ones anyway. Walls kept out noise, room temp very comfortable (we just slept with window cracked 3"), plenty of hot water, bed was pretty comfy for a hotel bed, and price was a very good value. Only a couple downsides: they have three parking lots, the one closest to the main entrance was always full. The second closest lot was hit or miss, but the entrance door there was broken. The third (and farthest lot) was always open, but that access door was always locked. So, leaving the hotel never a problem, just trying to get back in was...lastly, only one elevator at the front of the building, our room was on third floor, all the way in the back, so lots of trips back and forth to hot tub, breakfast area, or just coming and going for days activities. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable, value stay in Portland, OR.

Good but a bit old

Posted 10/06/2014
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Overdue remodelling needed
I've stayed at many Ramadas but this one is definitely the most old facility I've been to. There was a rather distinct smell to the room mostly because the old AC but perhaps the old carpets too. I couldn't open the window very much as there was a stopper. A bit stuffy. It was satisfactory but not great. I liked the variety of their breakfast. Better than most other motels.

Good place to sleep, close to light rail

Posted 06/06/2014
We flew to Portland from Iowa and rented a car. Car was really not used much exept to go to the mountains...we were worried about finding parking downtown Portland but with the light rail so close we never had to drive in. Very friendly staff. Decor outdated but since we were just sleeping when there it didn't even matter. Would stay there again

Affordable, but expect to drive everywhere.

This was a satisfactory hotel. Location was far from attractions. There was a door that gave access to the adjoining room that allowed us to hear voices loud and clear from the next room. Access to parking lot was convenient. Poor security as door to parking lot was not locked from the outside, so anyone could have entered the building.

Convenient to Southeast, nice and helpful staff

Pros: The cookies at night. But they always ran out too soon.
Cons: The cookies. They ran out too soon.
It was a perfect location for what I needed, but it was otherwise unremarkable. It's where flight crew stay when they're after reasonable and decent.

Major front desk problems!

Posted 22/05/2014
I called the day before I arrived to let them know I needed to use their FREE shuttle service from the airport and was told it would be no problem. I called from the airport and was told there was no driver and I would have to take a cab. This cost me 40.00 with trip and they would not reimburse me And were rude when I asked. The next day the desk person could not tell me how to get to the train station or what bus to take into Portland or what web site to use to check on line !!! So I had to take a cab into Portland, costing me an additional 30.00!!! The cab driver showed me where the station for the train is, a short 3 block walk from hotel and told me what train to take and what web site to use. The neighborhood is not great at night with 3 strip clubs within 2 blocks of the hotel

We were attending our daughters wedding close to the neighborhood. The Ramada was easy to get to, the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was great with biscuts and gravy, scrambled eggs, toast, yogurt and the list goes on, not just your typical continental breakfast. We had requested 2 beds and our room had only one king bed. There were 3 of us travelling together. They were able to get us a roll away.

Not a great neighborhood but okay i

Staff gave me the wrong directions so what was easy to find became an hour of traffic messes The neighborhood is nothing and not inviting for any walking or running, but easy access to freeways Workout room minimal. Hot tub with no privacy Liked the soap!

Airport shuttle??

Posted 18/05/2014
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Train the staff
I stayed here 1 night because my 1st choice (Ramada Airport) was not available. The hotel is newer than my first choice and a little further out from the airport. The street it's on has a lot of strip clubs and bars which gives the sense that this is not the best neighborhood in town. I was ending a vacation (son was driving) and we were able to find an Olive Garden a short distance ride away. Couple of choices there - might be a cab ride if you aren't renting a car. Checking in, I signed up for the shuttle the next morning (goes by room #) and was told "right at front door" Checked out next morning and was in the pickup spot 5 minutes early. I saw a Radio Cabs pull up and take a couple off and then later another who took a different group. Checked my time when they left and it was 2 minutes after the shuttle was scheduled. I go in and ask if the shuttle was running late - the desk person says "No, you were supposed to get in the cab" Might have been nice if either the desk person at night who took my shuttle reservation had mention this or the am desk person who had just checked me out by room number had said "No shuttle, we are using cabs today". Or a sign or something people. Fortunately, they were able to get another cab there but "tell him he has to come in the lobby to get paid". Maybe the desk person forgot to tell the driver that too. I made the flight but did not need the last minute stress. I will not stay here again.
