Interesting old cottage
Enjoyed staying in this old cottage and would have appreciated more information about it (such as when it was built, how much it has changed over the years, what woods were used on the floor and walls, etc.). Convenient location in Portland. It was windy and cold during our stay so we appreciated the heating. Local information provided by host was good.

Top notch.
Everything you could need. Beds comfortable. Clean and tidy. Amazingly central to Portland. Very impressed with the owners not allowing back to back bookings for COVID reasons. 48 hour spacing between guests.

Cute and convenient cottage in central Portland
A comfortable and very convenient place to stay. Walking distance to the shops and many attractions. Well equipped kitchen and laundry, off street parking, and great central heating (it was a very cold week in March). We would definitely recommend Hurdit to others and plan to return.

Old world charm at its best
We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful cottage. Close to the main street, close to the ocean and beautiful inside. My husband loves the original features of the wooden floors and ceiling and it had everything that we required. We will definitely book again when we come back to Portland. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your feedback. I’m sorry you only gave us one star. I think I pointed out that we are in the process of putting in a fence and therefore the garden would be a bit of a shambles. I was also only expecting 3 guests as per your booking, but received a phone call requesting extra bedding because there were now 6 people. My cleaner had to come in especially to provide extra linen and makeup up an extra bed. The cleaning bill was higher than usual after your stay. In spite of that, I reviewed you, saying I would rent to you again. I don’t think you have given us a fair review.

Thanks for allowing us to stay at your house which presented very clean with a great proximity to town. Just could do with a little gardening and a better tv Plus we bagged out on the fishing Price was terrific

Hi Craig, thanks for your review. I apologise about the gardening- we are currently arranging for new fencing, and our lovely hedge at the front is being cut back a bit to allow for easier maintenance- unfortunately it looks a little rugged. Thanks for the tip about the tv- we will get a bigger one as the existing tv is little! Good news about the fishing.

We had a very nice relaxing weekend away.
The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. The location was great as it was walking distance to the shops. Parking was good as we also had a boat which fit nicely into the driveway. I really enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Our overall experience was very good.

Relaxing, wonderful holiday home
Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Close to everything! The kids loved how easy and close it was to the beach, coming back to a very comfortable and relaxed little house! Highly recommended!

Lovely cottage, great location
We stayed at this lovely little cottage for only two nights while visiting Portland for an event. It was clean with comfy beds and perfect for our needs. Would stay again next time we visit.

Very comfortable cottage
We loved staying here. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking. The central heating kept the house nice and snug, and it was lovely sitting out on the deck in the sunshine.
