"Road from San Jose airport was trash. Road to resort not much better. Steak house took two hours to get our meals. Food in all restaurants was average at best. The bartenders at pool bar was only bright spot. We stayed at punts Cana Riu which was much better than the Costa Rica palace."

"The hotel was very pretty and we had a warm welcome. Our room had two double beds and a fold out chair. The double beds are just way too small for two people to sleep in comfortably. The shower is open and soaked the whole bathroom every time you used it and it didn’t drain well so everything was wet the whole time. The pool was big and there was plenty of space for people to be at the bar, playing volleyball and to play and tan on the ledges. Unfortunately a storm was blowing through during our stay so the red flag was up at the beach the whole time and the waves were big and powerful and quite intimidating. The breakfast was included and had so many options including the traditional gallon pinto, eggs and several meat options plus pastries and fruit, yogurt and out meal and a separate but included omelette bar. We got bar food service at the pool and the mango ceviche was delicious. The hotel is an easy walk to restaurants and nearby shops. There is a great game room with a small lending library and a movie theatre. We didn’t know that there were bicycles on property until we were leaving and saw some guests riding. It would be really fun because there is a flat path along the beach to ride. We definitely would have taken a ride if we knew. Next time for sure. Staff was helpful and kind. We booked this thinking it would be fun for our teens and they were really happy with the amenities, they played pool and pickleball."

"Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the ceiling fan didn't work and our slide glass door lock was broken, but being on the 6th floor, it wasn't a problem. The hotel has a beautiful pool with swim up bar. The breakfast bar was excellent with many delicious local foods, fruits and some traditional American foods like cereal and toast. The Beach Club is a great place to work out, swim in the pool or spend time on the beach-there are lounge chairs with wait staff service. The hotel makes it really easy to book tours and get shuttle rides for you for surfing lessons, mangrove tours and more. Highly recommended!"

"It is a beautiful property - very well maintained. Loved having such easy access to the beach. Food was decent. Overall the staff was great - a few people were not ideal but that is expected anywhere. Rooms were nice, but the road noise is terrible - bring a sound machine, and even then it's still loud. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again"

"Relaxing and enjoyable place with fantastic staff. The management are fantastic and whilst we visited there was a storm which they checked in and we're always responsive to needs. The pool area is lovely and relaxed. The one disappointment was the room did have a few issues with loose doors, drawers and a toilet flush that was always hissing. And right now there was lots of construction directly outside our room. However it's a charming little place."
