“Very average”
The room was great, very happy with that. The food in the restaurant is pretty overpriced and the customer service was pretty average. The staff never really knew the answers to any questions and the air conditioning broke on a 42 degree day and they said it would be fixed soon - for 8 hours. Oh that and two of the lifts broke down so there was a queue to be able to get the rooms. All in all, totally average, even for a cheap(er) hotel.
“A good location at a good price.”
Citigate is good value and well placed for conducting business in Perth - it's an easy 15 minute walk to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as the major shopping areas of Perth City. The central train station is about 1km down Wellington Street and the free CAT services are around the corner. Most of the hotel seems to have been renovated fairly recently and is a vast improvement (judged on a previous stay there a couple of years ago). The room I had was large and comfortable but the bathroom was a little tired. Nevertheless, comfortable enough.
“Good Hotel”
The hotel seemed to be a 3.5 star. The rooms were good, but the condition of the hotel was slightly run down. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
“Not all that impressed”
The hotel is no more than a 3 star, the mini bar didnot work, therewas always one lift under repair. The walls were very thin and conversation with nexat door would have been possible. The bar was only open from 5 PM to 10.30.
“Great place to stay”
Good location, high quality and clean rooms. Only complaint is services on the expensive side.
