“Disappointing value for money.”
Usually I can pay in UK pounds via Expedia. This hotel insists on paying in Euros. The cost was quite expensive by Franch standards, for the quality achieved. On arrival, day staff spoke no English. We arrived after 2.00pm, feeling tired, having left London eight hours earlier. We were sent to a room on the second floor with a view of the main street. It had not been touched by the housekeepers and was a mess. It was not a good first impression. We were offered an alternative on the fourth floor at the back. We declined. We agreed to go for a walk for an hour whilst they cleaned up the original room. On reflection, we feel we should have been offered some sort of goodwill gesture to make up for the mistake...even a cup of coffee would have been nice! Peaceful? The rooms are said to be soundproofed - this isn't the case. I was woken at 1am by a Scotsman HAMMERING on our door, shouting about my snoring.The room didn't have any English languageTV or even radio, despite the adverts. The fridge for the mini bar was very good, with effective cooling of our own stuff. There were no facilities for making our own hot drinks. There's no bath, only a shower The evening receptionist, fortunately, spoke good English and she was able to explain where the hotel's own garage is located. We had spent more on parking than would have been necessary if an English explanation had been provided. We were delighted, however, to be allowed to park hours after check out next day.
