“Ahhhh Paris”

Hotel was very very nice. The staff at the 24 hour desk were extremely cordial and helpful. The room was bigger then I expected not a shoe box like average European hotels. The bed was very comfortable, our room's view was very nice, the bathroom was roomy with very nice modern fixtures. Metro line#4 was right around the corner, buses there as well. Neighborhood was very nice for any meal, and the bakeries in the morning, mmmmmmm. Would go back tomorrow!

Area recommendations
This hotel is in the Montparnasse neighborhood and for the price and proximity to public transport I would recommend this neighborhood. Was 10 minute bus ride from the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, anywhere actually.

“We really enjoyed my staying in the hotel.”

The hotel has a very nice location with lovely restaurants and stores. The room is pretty small but clean. The air conditioner is not the best; it works like fan and doesn't cool the air. Everybody was very nice and helpful. It is located10 minutes from the train station, from where you can go to the airport without any traffic. If we go to Paris we will stay there again.

“Charming older hotel”

This is a charming older hotel located in a pretty good neighborhood within easy reach of metro and buses (1-2 blocks). Slightly worn, but comfortable with pleasing decor. I prefer staying in a boutique style hotel which reflects the country I am visiting, but keep in mind that in many European cities, this means small rooms. For Americans expecting a/c like our own, this is not the case, but honestly, Paris is generally not hot and it is not needed. Also was very disappointed in the hair dryer. I would definitely bring my own if you want heat and fan power (don't forget a converter). Staff was very helpful and available 24/7. They offered us a deal on the breakfast of 9 euro/day if committed to it and paid in advance for our whole stay. I think it was worth it to be able to get breakfast with reasonable variety of offerings without going on a hunt for it. It is a time-saver if you want to maximize your time available for sight-seeing. You can get more than one cup of coffee at this price which is not the case in a cafe. That alone makes it a deal. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a friend with the caveats of not expecting american a/c and also to not rely on their hairdryer.

“Not a 4 Star!”

We did not mind the location although from the reviews most had stated that it was easy to get to most location! On the Metro yes, walking not so much! For the money I could have found a bettter location; That was not the problem the qualty of the lobby and hotel was not quite what I would have expected from the photos and ratings! A little run down, beds not so good. The staff was not all as friendly or happy matbe to be there! One told us the breakfast was included and as we checked out an other said no! very confusing. Was good ,but not for $20? US dollars. Oh well! Good Luck

Area recommendations
The area was a little remote from the tourist area, which was good to see and you could tell a lot of people around ther live close by! Lots of action and people tp see! We did not mid the area! Metro was easy to get to and fun to experince rather than a taxi!
What to pack
Do not over pack! We did make that mistake! Take the metro from the airport! It is fairly easy once you figure it out! You can save money rather than using taxi's.. But do not over pack! I thought we would need more changes of clothes than we used!

“Would go back in a heartbeat!! It was GREAT!!”

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was located in the perfect spot, a block away from the Metro with a lovely stroll through the neighborhood market street. There were always fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, bread and seafood to smell and purchase to take with you for a snack. There were also 5 or so cafe/bistros nearby to dine and a great little sushi place around the corner. The hotel breakfast bar is superb! For lunch or dinner we frequented the corner bistro, right next door to the hotel, where they served delicious food and offered suggestions if you didn't know what to choose. The catacombes and the Montparnasse Cemetery are the closest tourist sites if you like that sort of thing. It makes for interesting conversation, that's for sure! All in all it was a wonderful stay in Paris! Reasonable pricing and excellent service. I will recommend Villa Montparnasse to everyone!!!

Area recommendations
Montparnasse was very nice and safe. The shops and restaurants in the area were terrific! A real taste of Paris! The close proximity to the Metro and the train to the airport were perfect!!! It connected us to everywhere we needed to go. I recommend the area.
Must see
The Eiffel Tower at night - it sparkles every hour on the hour. If you go to eat at the Cafe De L'Homme at the Trocadero Metro stop, you can get a great view of it while you dine on the terrace. If you go in June, plan on eating at 10:00pm and stay till midnight! It's spectacular!

“Rebel Review”

We had read other reviews which were mixed but we were very happy with the Hotel. The room was a good size for Paris and the bathroom was also more than adequate. The location was very convenient to everything so it was very easy to get around. It is located near a bustling street Rue De Daguerre; that contained Cafe's, Bars and shops selling just about everything and there was also a Supermarket nearby. We did not eat Breakfast in the Hotel although it did look good. We preferred to sit on the bustling street and watch the World go by. We were within walking distance of most of the Major attractions but preferred to hop on a Bus or take the Metro. We were very happy with the Hotel and would stay there again and would gladly recommend to our friends.

“Would absolutely go back”

The hotel was clean. The staff was very friendly. It was two blocks away from a Metro station and the Catacombs. One block away from the front door was a street filled with wine shops, cheese shops, fruit shops, cafes and the best creperie that we ate at in Paris! It was a little tricky to find at first, but not too bad. The room was small but comfortable. If you are worried about the size of the room though, your not seeing enough of Paris!

“Ok ... just OK”

Supposedly 4 star, one more than 3 but I have spent the whole trip trying to figure out what that star was for. The mini bar? No internet in the rooms, only free (slow) internet down in the lobby. That alone is a big minus I think in 2010. The place looks nice enough - the beds are 'ok'. Expect the old fashioned European way: a sheet and blanket. "Horse blanket' as my companion called it. :) Location is fine, 2 blocks from subway hub. Staff all speak English and are nice - no complaints there. I just think the value for money could be better. After all there is a lot of choice in Paris.
