“Perfectly adequate”
For the price we did not expect a 5 star hotel. Our expectations were therefore all met. The staff was very friendly, helping whenever we had any questions. The surroundings were nice and quiet.
“Great budget hotel”
Villa Modigliani was better than I'd expected, given it's relative inexpensiveness compared to other hotels in Paris. The setting was perfect, in a nice neighborhood close to restaurants, metro stops, and not far from the center of Paris. The hotel itself is within a quiet courtyard and our room was free from traffic noise, even when the windows were open. The set up of the room was nice for a family room, there was a bunkbed separated from the queen bed by a small door which allowed a little more privacy than other family rooms we'd stayed in. My concerns were with the unpleasant smell that occurred when we'd return to the room after a day out, particularly if we'd left the bathroom door open. And the last night of our stay we had a leak from the ceiling that continued through the night. I'm hoping it was due to the high humidity of the air and the air conditioning, rather than the source of the unpleasant smell....... We left very early the next morning for the airport so didn't have the opportunity to see how the hotel would deal with the problem. Overall, a very nice stay in a nice hotel for a very reasonable rate!
“Not impressed”
The overall value for the money for the hotel is quite low. The only hotel i have seen in years that still uses woollen blankets whch are quite uncomfortable. Except for the excellent location I dont have much to suggest for the hotel.
“Enjoyable place to stay in Paris.”
We were very pleased with Villa Modigliani. The room was quite comfortable (although we were a bit disappointed in the strength of the air conditioning in our room) and large enough for the three of us. The complimentary WiFi in the room worked well, so we could use Google maps to search for restaurants, etc.. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and most were fluent in English (and graciously tolerant of my stumbling attempts to speak in French). The location proved quite convenient for us. It is a short walk to either of two nearby Metro stops. Within a block or two were two bakeries, a grocery store, an ATM, a produce market, and a laundromat, and there were plenty of nearby restaurants. We greatly appreciated the hotel's courtyard and garden patio areas as peaceful places to enjoy breakfast or a snack or just to sit and plan our next adventure. We would stay at this hotel again in the future and would recommend it to friends.
“quiet hotel, tranquil setting”
reasonable hotel. Had to take the metro to most locations but that's not too bad since there were two different stops just a block away.
“A hotel that is better than my expectatin based on my experience in Europe.”
Clean, roomy (relatively) and convenience. Save and easy to reach the Metro. Has central AC.
“Competes with my other Paris favorite hotel!”
The Metro stop is only half a block away. The rooms are better than they were in 2005. Wi-fi is free in your room. I wished breakfast had been included in room rate--Euro cost was too much for light eaters. But clean, beautifully decorated, staff are friendly and English is good. Would stay again here.
“Very nice hotel”
We just returned from a trip to Paris and Rome. We stayed at the VIlla Modigliani in Paris. Overall, this was a very good hotel for the price, and in a great neighborhood. As other people have written, don't expect large rooms in European cities. And a 4 start hotel is more like a 3 start hotel in the States. This hotel is very well collected to the Metro and the RER rail system. You can use the Vavin station to go to Chatelet, and then connect to any landmark from there. Or you can simply walk to most of the tourist locations (Notre Dame, Louvre, Latin Quarters, etc). If you want to take the Metro to the Eiffel Towner, you're better off taking the Edgar Quinet station, as that line takes you directly to the tower. The RER station is a 10 minute walk, making it very easy to get between CDG and this hotel. Great bakeries and restaurants are just steps away.
“Nice and quiet hotel”
I chose this hotel based on reviews from Trip Advisor/Expedia. A nice and quiet hotel. Decent size room with a refrigerator. Lots of restaurants nearby. Easy access to public transportation. Took the Air France bus (line 4) from Gare Montparnasse to the airport. The station is a short walk from the hotel, about 10 minutes. Highly recommended if you don't have a lot of luggage. Will definitely stay again in this hotel.
“Great Location Great Hotel”
We stayed five nights. This hotel is in a great location near the Montparnasse Tower where there are many intersecting metros to get you where you need to go. The lobby and room where nice. The courtyard entry offered a nice retreat from the busy city streets. I would definitely stay here again.
