“Very nice and friendly staff”

The hotel is located only a block away from a metro station, but it is a bit small metro line and it requires transfers to get to most places. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and fluent in many languages. The hotel restaurant is very good and the hotel offers main services to ensure a good staying.

“I expected better from a Novotel”

The personel is very helpful, hotel well located but rooms are smaller than other European Novotels'. It need maintenance.

“Good business, no frills, type of hotel”

Novotel Vaugirard is perfect for the business person visiting Paris. The hotel is clean, the rooms are sufficient (even if somewhat small), and the staff is friendly enough (not the with the English-speaking, fyi). The breakfast is also very nice (lots of selection) and in a great area. However, the location is pretty far from any tourist spots, so I would recommend it more for business travels and those familiar with the Paris transit system rather than the first-time tourist. Overall, a good experience, but will probably pick a hotel more centrally located, especially for the price.

“Quite a value for Paris”

This hotel was a pleasant surprise in every respect. Given the price we paid, we didn't expect a lot but the hotel exceeded our expectations. We had free wifi, a wonderful buffet breakfast and a clean lovely room. The best part was the view from the eighth floor-the twinkling Eiffle tower. The metro was within the same block, so all of Paris was one metro ride away. I certainly would stay there again.

“Great for business travel. Extremely helpful staff, 1 block from Metro station”

High-quality rooms and service 1 block from a Metro station and 2 stops from the Porte de Versailles convention center. A helpful staff, many of whom spoke English, who contacted airlines and helped us when a flight was canceled. Rooftop bar has a phenomenal view of the Eiffel tower and there are several nice cafes and brasseries nearby.

Area recommendations

Left Bank, Marais and Mobillard/St. Germain are very lively with lots of cafes, boulangeries and shopping open late. A favorite cafe was Beaurepaire, on a quiet triangle a block from the Seine near Notre Dame in the Left Bank.

“Not impressed.”

Staff were indifferent / rude. Looked through you as you stood at the desk. The location was a bit misleading although once you figure out the metro everything was fairly accessible.

“A solid Paris value but know what you are getting.”

The hotel was a good value for Paris. Calling it 4 star however is a stretch. I would compare it to a nice Hampton Inn with a few more amenities most notably the roof top bar which had a great view. The bed was good but not up to expectations of a 4 star hotel. We also stayed in Movenpick, a Sofitel and a Le Meredian while in Europe. All had better overall amenities. The neighboorhood is safe with the police station right across the street. The Metro station was perhaps 50 yards away. The metro is a must unless you really want your exercise as the Louve , Notre Dame and other main attractions are a good 45-60 minute walk.

Vaugirard is a nice enough area and we foud our favorit restaurant of the trip, J the'...me. Fabulous.

“we loved it”

we really enjoyed our stay. they were so loving and welcoming they gave my children welcoming presents and lollipops everyday . the sofa was very nice .it is beside metro station .it was great and we want to go again.

“Great view of the Eiffel Tower from top floor at night”

See above for comments, we would recommend and would stay here again, it is with in walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.

Area recommendations

The louvre, Montmartre, Eiffel Tower, La Valley for shopping great ourlet shopping at reduced prices, wonderful.

Shopping

La Valley out near Eurail Disney, they have outlet shopping at reduced prices, great shopping centre attached as well, highly recommend shopping there.
