“Fantastic, well worth the money”

It was fantastic. I ended up paying a little more than I intended but it was well worth it. Large well appointed rooms, beautiful hotel in an incredible location right in the heart of Champs Elysees. I found no fault with the hotel or the staff, courteous, good English etc. I would return there without hesitation.

Area recommendations
Champs Elysees is a great area to. The atmosphere is incredible and it is well located for the metro (3 stops along it) and is walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph. The shopping is expensive for sure, but were able to eat there for little or no more than elsewhere in Paris and there are an enormous number of options in a small area.

“Ability to eat in the room is not always as advertised”

The hotel location was excellent but I was disappointed in the kitchen facilities. I was counting on being able to have breakfast in the room as all I eat in the morning is cereal but there was no table. We reserved two rooms (one for my husband and I, and one for my 25 yr old daughter) and her room had a small table and chairs set for eating. All our room had was the normal hotel desk. Also, the first morning there I rinsed out my cereal bowl and left it near the sink. I didn't realize until the next morning that housekeeping took the bowl, but never replaced it with another. This happened two mornings in a row and the third morning I had no bowl or spoons. However, if the kitchen facility is not important, then this shouldn't sway your decision to stay here. On the other hand, if that's not an important feature, then there's no other compelling reason to stay there; the hotel and it's facilities are just average. But I will say, the rooms were very spacious compared to most European hotel rooms, so that may be a compelling reason to choose this hotel. Also, we arrived at 10AM and were not able to check in early, which is always a 50/50 shot anyway. However, when we returned at 4PM, the designated check in time, the rooms still were not ready and we had to wait until 4:30 and even then we had to be somewhat persistent in order to move things along. But the front desk staff was very friendly and tried their best to help.

Getting around
Absolutely use the Metro. It is the most cost effective way to get around and allows you the freedom to get to all of the main attractions relatively easy.
Dining
We ate at several of the restaurants on the Champs Elysess but later realized that some of the real jewels were down the side streets. Food was just as good and prices were far more reasonable. Don't miss out on these other restaurants just for the sake of ease.
Other
DO NOT USE THE CURRENCY EXCHANGE OUTLETS ON THE STREET. They lure you in with advertised exchange rates that are very appealing then sock you with excess "service charges". It was far more economical and we received a much more favorable exchange rate when we went to the bank or used our credit cards.

“View was fantastic”

Being upgraded to a two level room with views of the Eiffel Tower was magic. Both the large bedroom and sitting room had this view. Some of the decor was a little tired - paint off the walls in some places, but this could be overlooked as the position on the Champs Elysees was so good, and you could lie in bed and see the Tower! The kitchen was new, but it was difficult to find a supermarket to buy anything to cook! We asked at the front desk, but the man on duty was sorry that he didn't understand what we wanted. After walking around the back streets one afternoon, we discovered a small shop. Around the corner down the street, there was a pub that sold really great meals at reasonable cost. The cafes at the front of the hotel took soooo long to serve you. An elderly American couple joked that they had been waiting since the day before for their lunch! We had a great meal at a sidewalk cafe across the road, up the hill a little, on the first night in Paris. All in all, really enjoyed our stay. Perhaps missed a restaurant that provided room service if you were tired from sightseeing.

Area recommendations
Not having stayed in Paris before, I can't really compare other areas with where we stayed. The Champs Elysees is an excellent tourist area and felt safe.

“Fantastic serviced apartments in Paris”

We stayed for 5 nights at the Claridge Suites on the Champs Elysees with our 2 year old daughter. We arrived in Paris after 2 weeks travelling around France, staying in various hotels and the arrival at such a clean, large apartment was fantastic. It was great to have a clean (albeit smallish) kitchenette and a large one bedroom apartment which was ideal for our toddler and for us to relax in a great location. I'd recommend the Claridge Suites to anyone looking for a larger, clean, serviced apartment in Paris in a central location. Very happy with the experience. My only slightly negative point would be the smell of cigarette smoke which we could smell in the bedroom but we determined that it must have been coming through the heating vent and hey, it is Paris so such is life. Overall though, very quiet (although we weren't on street side where it may be different), safe, clean, large and comfortable.

Family-friendly activities
- Luxembourg Gardens: there's a great section in the park with play activities for ages one through to 10+. Perfect on a warmish day and coffee + baguettes for parents nearby. - The gardens in front of the Louvre: our little one loved pushing a boat around the little pond although we did have to hold her back from jumping in many a time! - Galleries Layfayette: there's a good toy section on level 6 for when the little ones are sick of the pram.

“Quite impressd”

Claridge's apartment suites were a brilliant experience for our Paris honeymoon. The location was ideal, as was the service and attention to every detail. We look forward to our return to both the hotel and Paris! Would HIGHLY recommend this property.

“Excellent choice”

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. The apartment was huge, for Paris, and well furnished. The beds were comfortable and large. Exceeded our expectations.

“Recommended, especially for a family”

Our family of four (with two girls 19 and 14) stayed at the Frasier Suites Claridge Champs Elysees from Jan 3-9, 2010. Check in was a breeze, and staff courteous. Our "suite" was on two levels with a large living room/dining area plus balcony, closet area and a small but efficient kitchen on the first level. Circular stair led to the cosy room with a king bed, toilet, bath and another closet area on the second level under the eaves. The furniture was a little mish-mash - nothing quite matched, but no matter. The room was very quiet -- we felt like we were the only ones in the hotel! There is a Monoprix 1/2 block away, and the kitchen was clean and well outfitted that we easily prepared all breakfasts, several lunches, and three complete dinners. We travel to Paris as a family about once a year, and found eating a few meals in to be incredibly relaxing after very full days of visiting and sightseeing. I thought the housekeeping was a little uneven -- all basics performed well, but little things left two or three days (dish towels or small toiletry replacement) and then we would get five of everything. Our extra blanket disappeared one day. Just a little unpredictable. We were also surprised by how few channels we got on the tv which worked about every other day -- very strange for downtown Paris. Good internet connection. I would absolutely stay here again for the location and the convenience.

Area recommendations
The Champs Elysees is a great area, very commercial and not as elegant as it used to be, but always bustling late into the evening, with the full gamut of shopping and dining options. We always visit just after New Year's, so the Christmas decorations are still up (usually until the beginning of the January sales), and nothing beats the view down "les champs! " As usual, we walked absolutely everywhere, but the Metro and bus stops are very convenient. The neighborhoods on either side of the main avenue are splendid, and worth every detour possible.

“Loved the hotel & the experienced well informed and friendly STAFF. i WILL STAY THERE IN THE FUTURE”

although AIR France lost our luggage the Hotel staff was very supportive and helpfuk delivering the missing bags to our room. The breakfast & lunch room was a pleasure and the food was delicious. The elevators were small however this is an old building. Other than that I was very happy with the atmosphere, decor and services.

Area recommendations
if you want to be in the action stay at Claridges. Champs Elysess is very busy. For a quieter neighborhood check out La Marais

“WILL STAY AGAIN”

Room was ready when we got here. Right in the middle of everything. Large room, very clean and comfortable, basic. Nice big fluffy bath towels. But no robes as stated. Got a great deal on room. Will stay again. Did not like the fact that you had to use your room key card to turn the power on. Maids would take it out after cleaning room, and clocks would have to be reset.

Area recommendations
I liked the islands Notre Dame, ect. More Paris to me. Great shops, and lots of good places to eat. Very pretty even in winter.
