“The Best Western experience.”
The hotel itself is not a problem. The area is. Especialy at night. There are lots of men hanging around the streets outside shops and bars and it makes one wonder if they are pimps or drug dealers. Apart from that, the hotel is well located at walking distance from the Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est.
“nice, clean hotel”
tipically small european, but nice. Is -in- Paris, close to the subway, not the best area of Paris, but not bad
“"Make sure you ask for a room with a bathtub.."”
Most of the employees were very nice. The room was tiny, which is not unusual. However, we started out with a room with just a shower, and it was miniscule, maybe 1" x 1". Any time you tried to maneuver, the curtain would stick to your backside, "When I move, you move...just like that...". We had to change to a room with a tub because by the time my roomate and I showered, there was a flood in the room. They did try very hard to accomodate us, which was nice. The rooms were pretty clean...not a bad experience overall...
“Good hotel for the price”
After staying at some other hotels around Europe on a budget, to see the bathroom here was a big relief. It was big and had a full size tub. Otherwise was clean and very servicable.
“Great location for Velib's fans”
Just in front of a Velib' station, this simple hotel has everything we believe you might need for travel vacations in Paris. Price was fair. Very small elevator and simple continental breakfast. Thin walls on the rooms. Strongly reccomend this hotel.
“Straightforward, convenient, reasonable value - no problems”
We needed a room for a one night stop in Paris en route by train from Yorkshire to Switzerland, convenient to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, and picked this one because it said it was in a quiet street and it had a reasonable-priced vacancy. No great style or character, but convenient, comfortable, clean, friendly reception staff, quiet except for the idiot jabbering on mobile phone at 5am (must have been a quirk of the acoustics, because it seemed a solidly-built place and we didn't hear anything else - room looked onto a light well but that was OK by us). Breakfast seemed a bit pricy but we didn't go for it, just picked up a bottle of fruit juice from convenient latenight local grocery shop on the corner, and then takeaway pastries and coffee on the way to our 8.24am train. Didn't eat locally but there were lots of very cheap and cheerful-looking ethnic places, and a few slightly more up-market.
“walked everywhere i could”
one attendant was not a gentlemen but did not permit his arrogance ruin my stay. a female attendant by the name of Jolle was a spectacular employee. very polite and well informed. she went beyond the call of duty.. someone give her a raise !!
“Good for the price”
The hotel is good for the price, but the area where it is located is not the best. It looked like you can't go out after dark.
“nice hotel”
a lot of restaurants nearby, walking distance to both Gare du Nord and St. Lazare, close to Opera, lots of good restaurants nearby
“Great experience”
The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The location was amazing very close to the metro and there were lots of places to eat. Our room was very clean.
